This year’s Best of the Super Jr. 33 (BOSJ 33) tournament has begun with a bang as several competitors locked horns at a press conference for the event.
As they were leaving the stage, Master Wato and Kosei Fujita started brawling. Fujita said something inaudible to Wato who then turned around slapping him in the face. Wato then took Fujita to the ground and started wailing on him with punches.
Young Lions pulled Wato off as he continued to kick and stomp Fujita. Wato broke free from the Young Lions hammering on Fujita some more.
Fujita got back to his feet, tore off his jacket and ran at Wato giving him a flying forearm to the face. The continued exchanging forearms and punches. Even Kushida tried to break them apart but couldn’t. A Young Lion finally escorted Wato off the stage.
As he was leaving, Fujita threw his jacket out to the audience. Out of nowhere, Francisco Akira nailed Fujita with a steel chair to the stomach. He then smashed the chair over Fujita’s head. Fujita’s TMDK partner, Robbie Eagles, came back to chase off Akira and check on his friend helping him to the back.
The Best of the Super Juniors 33 is scheduled to run from Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, June 7th. The winner earns a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
