After years of appearing as an in-ring character in the WWE 2K video game series, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is stepping into a new role in WWE 2K26.
The former world champion has joined the game’s commentary team alongside Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton and Wade Barrett. The change marks the first time Booker T’s voice has been featured as part of the commentary in the long-running wrestling video game franchise.
Speaking in a promotional video released by 2K Sports, Booker T reflected on the experience of recording lines for WWE 2K26 and admitted the process was more demanding than he expected.
“Man, it’s been an awesome experience working with 2K, finally getting my voice in the game,” Booker said. “I think I bit off a little more than I could chew, though. I know it’s more reading than I’ve ever done in my life.”
Booker T Says He’s Used Some Of His Lines From WWE 2K26 In Real Life
Booker T noted that some of the lines recorded for WWE 2K26 have already made their way into his work on WWE television.
“I use a lot of the quotes from the video game on NXT, so it’s actually pretty cool,” he explained. “ ‘No bread, no water, just meat!’ As well as, ‘It’s all about checks and championships!’ ”
The Hall of Famer also spoke about how his role as a broadcaster has introduced him to a new generation of fans who know him more for his commentary than his decorated in-ring career.
“I’ve had a great career, so many people remember me from my wrestling career,” Booker said. “So many kids come up to me now and they recognise me from being a commentator, and a lot of them didn’t even know I was a wrestler. So now in the video game, I’m immortalised as a commentator, so I think it’s pretty awesome.”
Booker T is currently a regular voice on WWE NXT, where he calls the action alongside Vic Joseph. He also occasionally appears on commentary for main roster programming.
