AEW has confirmed that Bobby Lashley has picked up an injury.
Bobby Lashley is currently sidelined with a legitimate injury, according to a new report from Fightful Select. During Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, MVP revealed on air that Lashley was out of action. While some viewers believed the announcement may have been storyline-driven, the report confirms the injury is real and is expected to keep Lashley away from the ring for a significant period.
Lashley has not wrestled since AEW Full Gear, where he competed in the Casino Gauntlet match to determine the inaugural AEW National Champion. His absence since that appearance had fuelled speculation regarding his status.
No further details have been disclosed regarding the nature of the injury, but AEW is said to be aware of the situation and adjusting creative plans accordingly. MVP continues to represent Lashley on screen while he recovers.
Lashley had been building strong momentum in AEW prior to the setback, with his eventual return now a key point of interest for the company.
When Did Bobby Lashley Join AEW?
Bobby Lashley joined AEW in September 2024 and made his debut on the October 30, 2024, Fright Night Dynamite special episode, where he joined forces with MVP and Shelton Benjamin to form The Hurt Syndicate, AEW’s version of The Hurt Business faction, which Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin formed in WWE in 2020.
Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract expired on August 16, 2024, after spending six years with the company in his second run. His first run started in 2005 and ended in 2008.
