Blake Monroe knows what will make her stand out when she debuts on WWE SmackDown.
At NXT Revenge, Tatum Paxley defeated Blake Monroe in a Casket Match, closing the lid on the former North American Champion’s time in the developmental brand. Soon afterwards, vignettes started airing on SmackDown, teasing Monroe’s impending arrival on the blue brand.
The star will join a stacked women’s division on the show, and will come up against the likes of Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, and Rhea Ripley. However, Monroe says she has something those other women don’t.
In a recent interview with Vincente Beltran, Monroe was asked about a comment Mark Henry made, saying she was a “throwback wrestler” who could work with any wrestler and any style. Monroe said the comment meant a lot to her, and that being a “wrestlers’ wrestler” is something that sets her apart.
“That means a lot. I mean, I love Mark Henry and I was smiling reading that, which I don’t often smile, and it did make me really happy because I do think I’m pretty old school and pretty traditional.
“You know, I’m a wrestler’s wrestler, and if you look at my journey and moving all around the world and getting good at this craft, I think, like I said, Blake Monroe has something that not every woman has, and don’t get me wrong, everybody’s journeys are special, but I’m a wrestler’s wrestler, and I think you’re going to see that when I do eventually decide to debut on SmackDown.”
When Will Blake Monroe Debut On WWE SmackDown?
During the same interview, Blake Monroe said that her SmackDown debut could be coming as soon as May 29th. That night’s show will take place in Barcelona, and Monroe says that she will “maybe” be there, and that’s enough reason for fans to buy a ticket.
“Here’s the thing. SmackDown is coming to Spain. Do you know who else is coming to Spain? Blake Monroe. I haven’t made my SmackDown debut yet, maybe Barcelona is the place to do that. I mean, I am from Europe, Barcelona is a beautiful place. Hopefully, the people are beautiful too.
“Maybe you finally get to see the historic moment that The Glamour debuts on SmackDown. Maybe. That’s a good enough reason to buy a ticket, and Rhea Ripley and Cody Rhodes and people like that will be there, but, maybe The Glamour will be there.”
She's not like everyone else, she's Blake Monroe. 💫
