Big Cass made his long-awaited return to WWE on this week’s episode of Raw, attacking Je’Von Evans moments after Evans picked up a victory over Ethan Page.
Je’Von Evans had just secured the win with the OG Cutter when Big Cass stormed to the ring and dropped him with a big boot. The returning star then delivered East River Crossing before standing over Evans to mark his first appearance on WWE television since 2018.
Later in the show, Cass explained his actions during a backstage interview, insisting there was nothing personal about targeting Evans.
“It wasn’t personal. He was just in the way.”
Cass added that, after spending eight years away from WWE, he had returned with one objective.
“I’m here to stack bodies.”
WWE had spent several weeks teasing Cass’ return through a series of video packages, with each one counting down to August 3, the night after SummerSlam.
Big Cass’ Wrestling Career Away From WWE
Big Cass was released by WWE in 2018 and later spoke openly about overcoming addiction while rebuilding his wrestling career. After competing on the independent scene, he joined Impact Wrestling before signing with AEW in 2022 under the name Big Bill.
During his time in AEW, he formed a successful partnership with Ricky Starks before later aligning with Chris Jericho as a member of The Learning Tree. His final appearances for Ring of Honor came in April.
Reports in recent months suggested that both Cass and Enzo Amore were expected to return to WWE, potentially leading to a reunion of the former tag team. However, Enzo did not appear during Raw, nor was he featured in the video packages that preceded Cass’ return.
