Bianca Belair has provided a disappointing update on her injury progress as WrestleMania 42 season draws nearer.
Bianca Belair is set to undergo surgery as she continues to deal with a hand injury that has kept her out of action for nearly a year. The former WWE Women’s Champion shared the update on social media, writing, “Finger surgery tomorrow,” along with a praying emoji. Belair previously explained that the issue stemmed from a broken knuckle suffered during a triple threat match with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. She said the injury occurred when Ripley landed on her hand following a top-rope spot.
“So I broke my knuckle, not my finger, I broke the joint,” Belair said in a past interview. “It’s something that I thought was going to be a very straightforward, you know, eight to 12 weeks. It’s been almost six months at this point.”
She described the moment the injury happened and the challenges that followed.
“We were going to the top rope, and we came off the top rope and Rhea landed straight on my hand and it just crushed everything in my finger,” she said. “Being an athlete and having an injury, you rely on your body and now my body’s not doing what it’s supposed to do. But I’m hoping that I can be back in the ring soon.”
When Did Bianca Belair Last Wrestle?
Bianca Belair’s last match took place at WrestleMania 41, where she unsuccessfully challenged Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship. She later made a brief appearance at WWE Evolution as the guest referee for a match between Jade Cargill and Naomi.
