Bianca Belair has provided a candid update on her recovery, revealing the full extent of the injury that has kept her out of in-ring competition for nearly a year.
The former Women’s Champion posted on Instagram yesterday, sharing a graphic image from her recent finger surgery and detailing the long road that led to the procedure. According to Bianca Belair, the injury saga stretched across 10 months, included eight months of rehabilitation, and consultations with five different doctors before she finally underwent surgery on February 17.
“And we are FINALLY here. Now I can finally start to put this behind me,” Belair wrote. “Thank you so much Dr. Desai for hearing me and fixing me!”
Belair also described how complicated the injury had been.
“Fingers and JOINTS are complicated, frustrating, confusing, essential… if you don’t get it… consider yourself lucky and I hope you never have to find out,” she added.
When Did Bianca Belair Suffer Her Finger Injury?
The EST suffered the injury during her Triple Threat match against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 41 on April 20, 2025. Initially believed to be a broken finger, the issue was later revealed to involve a broken knuckle and joint, making it far more complex than first expected.
Bianca Belair had originally anticipated an absence of 8 to 12 weeks. Instead, although the bone healed, she previously explained that her finger would not bend, preventing her from competing safely.
She began physical therapy just one day after surgery and has already shared clips of her rehabilitation process. Since the injury, her only WWE appearance was at Evolution in July 2025, where she served as a special guest referee in the No Holds Barred match between Jade Cargill and Naomi.
Given the timing of the surgery, Belair is unlikely to compete at WrestleMania 42 on April 18 and 19 in Las Vegas. While basic recovery from the procedure may take a matter of weeks, full grip strength could require several months, making SummerSlam 2026 a more realistic target for her return to action.
