Becky Lynch has named her top dream opponent outside WWE, and it is a familiar face from her past.
Speaking with Billboard, Becky Lynch was asked which non-WWE star she would most like to face. She pointed to Toni Storm, praising the work Storm is currently doing in All Elite Wrestling and revealing the match was something she wanted even before Storm left WWE.
“Well, I’d probably wrestle Toni Storm,” Lynch said. “I always wanted to wrestle her. I was bummed when she left, and she’s doing amazing work over there at [AEW]. It’s absolutely amazing. Let’s make it a Dublin Street Fight. I do love a good street fight or maybe a Hell in a Cell. Yeah, let’s make it a Hell in a Cell.”
Storm has built a reputation in AEW for excelling in high-profile and violent stipulation matches, including the widely praised Hollywood Ending bout in which she defeated Mariah May to conclude their rivalry at AEW Revolution 2025. She is a four-time AEW Women’s World Champion and has drawn widespread acclaim for her character work as “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Lynch heads into the Royal Rumble as the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship holder. When asked what motivates her at this stage of her career, she explained that storytelling now matters more than accolades.
“Right now, it’s all the purpose of a story,” Lynch said. “When you kind of accomplished everything, you come back to the bare bones. You come back to, “Why do I do this in the first place? Well, I love it. Well, OK. How can I make this better than it was when I found it?
How we can lift up the next generation? Who’s gonna be the people that take over next and how we can make sure that they’re in a position to succeed. How can we tell the best stories? How can we get the audience invested? How can we get new eyes on the business? How can I make people feel the way I felt when I was a fan?”
While a Lynch vs. Storm match would require rare cross-promotional cooperation, her comments have fuelled speculation about one of the most intriguing potential women’s matches currently imaginable.
How Long Has Becky Lynch Been With WWE?
Becky Lynch signed with WWE in 2013 after building her reputation on the European independent scene. She reported to NXT, where she became part of the original Women’s Revolution alongside Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Bayley.
