Jack Perry reportedly escaped serious injury after his brutal match against Kyle Fletcher on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Jack Perry faced Fletcher during Wednesday’s Fright Night Dynamite on October 28, with the contest featuring several dangerous-looking spots that raised concerns about his physical condition.
Despite the punishment he endured, the latest backstage update suggests that Perry is dealing with soreness rather than any significant injury. On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said Perry told people backstage he was sore after the encounter.
“Hey, you want a scoop? I did hear that Jack Perry was telling people that he was sore.”
Although Alvarez did not report any serious injury, he said he was surprised Perry apparently escaped the match without more significant damage.

One moment in particular caught Bryan Alvarez’s attention: Jack Perry took a frightening powerbomb into the ring frame. The impact looked particularly brutal, prompting Alvarez to wonder how Perry avoided a more serious injury.
“If you watch that match, he’s lucky he’s only sore. I thought he was going to get legitimately decapitated when he took that powerbomb into the ring frame. Absolutely brutal.”
The match was one of several notable encounters featured on AEW’s Halloween-themed edition of Dynamite, which took place at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. Fletcher ultimately defeated Perry with a top-rope Brainbuster.
Following the match, Fletcher turned his attention towards the AEW World Championship, issuing a challenge to reigning champion Will Ospreay for Full Gear on November 14. While Fletcher emerged victorious and moved into the world title picture, Perry’s physical condition became a talking point following the punishment he absorbed during the contest.
