Wrestling legend Arn Anderson is taking pride in the accomplishments of the new wave of wrestling talent.
While he is keeping a close eye on his son Brock’s career in MLW he is also impressed by the path Cody Rhodes has blazed.
The on-screen rivalry and backstage friendship between the Andersons and the Rhodes Family began in the NWA and WCW in the seventies and eighties. The Andersons feuded with the Rhodes family for years. Into the nineties, Anderson took on Dustin Rhodes in WCW. In AEW, Anderson not only worked behind the scenes in AEW but was Cody Rhodes’s coach and mentor.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Anderson said he felt like an uncle watching over Cody.
“Like a doting uncle. I am very, very proud of him because he did it the right way. He had a tough road to climb being Dusty Rhodes’ son. You know, most people don’t realize he’s always going to be compared to his dad. That’s not fair because nothing about him is like his dad was. They were both megastars in different ways, different eras, in different times in the business. I would just say his dad would be very proud,” he said.
Arn Anderson is lending his legendary status to MLW as well. He will be involved in the MLW x Don Gato Tequila: Live Special on November 20 at the Charleston Music Hall and a meet-and-greet session from 6:00-6:30 p.m. before the show.
Killer Kross and Scarlett, Matt Riddle, Shotzi, Mistico, Mads Krule Krugger, Donovan Dijak, Bishop Dyer, Blue Panther, Brock Anderson, Salina de la Renta have been announced as being on the show as well. What will Anderson’s role be? MLW is keeping that information close to their chest.
The show will stream on MLW’s YouTube and beIN Sports.
