Andrade El Idolo has shared his plans for his pro wrestling retirement.
Andrade El Idolo has revealed that he would like to finish his career in All Elite Wrestling, making his long-term intentions clear following his recent return to the company. During an exchange with a fan on social media, Andrade responded to a joke about his multiple AEW comebacks and stated that he hopes to remain with the promotion until the end of his in-ring career.
“I would like to retire here. I’m not kidding,” Andrade wrote. “I’m here to contribute to the company, and I’m here to become one of the greats of AEW.”
Andrade previously wrestled for AEW from 2021 to 2023 before returning to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble. After a brief run and several short programmes, the former NXT Champion rejoined AEW in October 2025.
His return, however, was delayed on television due to complications surrounding WWE’s non-compete clause, leading to a prolonged legal situation before he was cleared to appear again. Once those issues were resolved, Andrade was reintroduced into AEW programming and quickly positioned near the top of the card.
He is now involved in the AEW World Championship picture alongside MJF and longtime rival Kenny Omega.
Andrade is scheduled to face Omega on the February 4, 2026, episode of AEW Dynamite, as his latest chapter in AEW continues.
How Long Has Andrade El Idolo Been Wrestling?
Andrade El Idolo began his wrestling career in October 2003 at 14, after training from an early age with his father, uncles, and grandfather and debuting for their promotion in Durango, Mexico. He would go on to sign for CMLL in 2007 and would continue wrestling for CMLL and NJPW until he signed with WWE in 2015.
