AEW star Mansoor is catching some heat for a controversial social media post.
The post appears to celebrate the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Zohran Mamdani becoming the new mayor of New York City last night. Cheney was a Republican who served under President George Bush, and Democrat Mamdani is the city’s first Muslim mayor.
The post read:
“DICK CHENEY IS DEAD AND A MUSLIM IS MAYOR OF NYC WE UP”. A photo shows Mansoor standing beside TNA star Mustafa Ali.

Some expressed their displeasure with Mansoor’s comments:
Not cool. I didn’t like his policies either, but that’s not cool.

What a horrible thing to say about a human being. Politics aside, just don’t celebrate someone’s death. He has a family. That’s very disrespectful.

Keep politics out of wrestling. It won’t get you anywhere passed the catering table.

This tweet isn’t play out the way you think it will… It’s not gonna end well… a Muslim as the mayor of New York City? Cool… celebrating the death of a former vice president of the United States of America?.. Not a good look for the company ( @AEW ) you work for man. 🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/IxwBxfCdBk

I assume your drunk or something but delete this while you still can, you’re probably going to be fired.

Bad form. Also: people don’t follow you for your views or political beliefs, they follow you because they like your wrestling and find you entertaining. When you write a book about global macro economics we can talk, until then keep taking bumps but keep them from your head.

No fan of Dick Cheney here, but celebrating his death is just classless. Do better.
