Two AEW stars have landed roles in the latest Steven Spielberg film.
According to PWInsider, AEW’s Brian Cage and Lance Archer are featured in the opening wrestling sequence of Disclosure Day, Spielberg’s new science-fiction thriller that officially opens in theatres this week. The report notes that professional wrestling scenes were filmed for the movie, with Cage and Archer appearing at the very beginning.
Disclosure Day follows a cybersecurity specialist and a local television meteorologist who join forces to uncover and expose classified government files related to alleged extraterrestrial encounters and alien intelligence.
The film has already generated strong reviews, currently holding an 82 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. The critics’ consensus praises the movie’s optimistic tone and highlights Emily Blunt’s performance as one of its biggest strengths.
With a reported budget of $115 million and a runtime of 145 minutes, Disclosure Day is one of the year’s most high-profile science-fiction releases.
While professional wrestlers have frequently appeared in major Hollywood productions over the years, the inclusion of two active AEW stars in a Steven Spielberg film represents another notable crossover between wrestling and mainstream entertainment.
