A current AEW star would welcome an offer to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, although he plans to finish his career in Tony Khan‘s company.
Dustin Rhodes has had a career spanning almost four decades, and in that time, has been part of the NWA, WWE, WCW, and TNA. For the last seven years, though, The Natural has made his home in All Elite Wrestling.
While he believes he has done the best work of his career in AEW, many would argue that Rhodes had already secured a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame with his work in the decades before becoming All Elite.
When he was asked if he would welcome an induction into the Hall of Fame, Rhodes told Ryan Gaydos of Fox News that he “absolutely” would, and said he would want his daughter, Dakota, and his brother, Cody Rhodes to do the honours. However, if it doesn’t happen, it’s not a big deal for the former TNT Champion.
“Absolutely. I’m a very humble guy though, it’s like, if it comes, it comes, whatever. I would love Cody to do it and my daughter, specifically both of them. That would be just great, the most meaningful, heartfelt, but if it comes, it comes, if it doesn’t, no big deal. I’ve had an awesome, incredible career. Doing some great things.”
Turning to AEW, Rhodes believes he has been on top of his game during his time in the company, saying it helped him find his passion again.
“I feel like these last seven years in AEW, I’ve been really on top of my game because I’ve had more freedom to enjoy it, and it’s happier and you’re more passionate, find your passion sometimes again, and you want to grow this company the best we can, and we’re all on the same page in AEW. We are doing the best that we can to get it to where it needs to be, and it’s growing. It’s getting huge.”
When Will Dustin Rhodes Return To AEW?
Rhodes is currently out of action following double-knee replacement surgery, but he plans to return to the ring in AEW after he completes his recovery. In an update in November, the 56-year-old star said he was aiming to return in March 2026, with “the greatest comeback of anyone in their 50s.”
