One AEW star doesn’t think Mercedes Mone is given enough credit.
At the Grand Slam France edition of Dynamite, Queen Aminata challenged Mercedes Mone for the AEW Women’s World Championship. While Aminata couldn’t overcome The CEO, she says the bout made her “a different wrestler.”
Speaking on CMLL Informa, Aminata said that after the match, she realised she wanted to be as good a woman as Mone.
“Growing up watching wrestling, I didn’t really have a role model, so I just wanted to make myself my own role model. Now that I’ve faced her in Paris, for some reason, after that match, something stuck in my head. I want to be as good as this woman is.”
“She Is Amazing” – Queen Aminata On Mercedes Mone
Aminata went on to praise Mone, saying the star is “amazing” and doesn’t get the credit she deserves.
“She is amazing. I don’t think people give her enough credit. Even now that I’m here, I feel like I’m a different wrestler because of that match. It was in France, and I grew up in France. Of course, it’s the one and only Mercedes Mone. I want to do it again. I really want to wrestle her again. She’s amazing.”
After successfully defending the Women’s World Title at WrestleDream, Mercedes Mone found her next challenger on the October 21st edition of Dynamite when she was confronted by Marina Shafir.
