After signing a new deal, MVP thanked Tony Khan for the opportunity he has given The Hurt Syndicate in AEW.
MVP made his first appearance in AEW in September 2024, only a month after leaving WWE. Over the next few weeks, the star reformed his former WWE faction, The Hurt Business, in the promotion by bringing in first Shelton Benjamin and then Bobby Lashley.
Now calling themselves The Hurt Syndicate, the group has become a dominant force in the company, with Lashley and Benjamin holding the Tag Team Titles for over 200 days earlier in 2025. While MVP has mainly taken on managerial duties for the Syndicate, he has recently been getting in the ring for trios matches, particularly during the faction’s feud with Ricochet and The Demand.
MVP Appreciates The Opportunity He’s Been Given By Tony Khan In AEW
In a new interview with Adventure Gamers, MVP revealed that he has signed a new deal with AEW that will see him remain in the promotion for “quite a while” and hopes to go beyond working as a manager and potentially taking on a role behind the scenes.
“I do want to say this. I want to say thank you to Tony Khan, because recently I signed an extension and I’ll be with AEW for quite a while in my current capacity and hopefully beyond in a managerial capacity and to whatever extent, possibly behind the scenes.
The star went on to explain that he is happy to be able to continue contributing to the pro wrestling business, and thanked Tony Khan for giving The Hurt Syndicate one last run together.
“I’m very happy where I’m at right now in my career at this stage to be able to continue to contribute to the business and make money with my friends and entertain at the level that we’re still able to maintain. I appreciate Tony Khan for giving me, Bobby and Shelton an opportunity to get the team back together for a final run and the future looks bright.”
The future doesn’t just seem bright for The Hurt Syndicate, but for AEW, too, as Tony Khan has signaled his intention to expand further internationally.
