An AEW and ROH star has been sidelined with a knee injury and is officially out of action ahead of this year’s ROH Final Battle.
Tony Khan confirmed the news on Twitter, announcing that Rush is not medically cleared to compete at Final Battle due to the injury. As a result, he has been pulled from his scheduled ROH World Championship match on 5 December, where he was set to challenge Bandido in one of the event’s headline bouts.
With Rush removed from the card, Bandido will now defend the title in a Survival of the Fittest match featuring Sammy Guevara, Komander, Hechicero, Blake Christian, and The Beast Mortos. Khan added that details regarding the future of the ROH Tag Team Championship, currently held by Rush and Guevara, will be addressed soon.
Rush’s Recent AEW Appearances
Rush’s most recent outing came on the 15 November episode of AEW Collision, where he teamed with Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood, and Sammy Guevara in an eight-man tag against Bandido, Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey, and Juice Robinson.
Before that, he appeared on the 15 October Dynamite, challenging for the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Dralistico and The Beast Mortos. The trio fell short in their bid against Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Samoa Joe.
As ROH Final Battle approaches, Rush’s absence leaves a notable gap on the card and raises further questions about the status of his partnership with Guevara and their Tag Team Title reign.
