An AEW star was removed from the Dynamite card last night, just a few hours before the show, due to a legitimate injury.
Queen Aminata was scheduled to face Megan Bayne in a Blood & Guts Advantage match on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite. However, just a few hours before the show went live, Tony Khan took to Twitter live to share that Aminata had suffered a legitimate injury and would no longer be able to compete. Khan then said that Aminata would be replaced by Mina Shirakawa.
It has not been said if Aminata will be absent from Blood & Guts next week, but if she was unable to compete on last night’s show, it is likely she may not be cleared to compete for next week either, and will probably be replaced again by Shirakawa. It is not currently known what injury Aminata has picked up.
When Did Queen Aminata Join AEW?
Queen Aminata joined AEW in 2021, making her debut on the April 13 episode of Dark, and made her TV debut on the November 25, 2022, episode of Rampage. Aminata didn’t compete for the company again until 2023, but didn’t become a major feature of the women’s division until late 2024, after spending the majority of 2024 working for Ring of Honor.
Since September of 2024, however, Aminata has been featured prominently on TV, and she challenged Mercedes Mone for the TBS Title on the October 16 episode of Dynamite. Earlier this year, Aminata had a No Holds Barred match with Thekla on the September 17 Dynamite that received high praise from fans and critics.
