AEW’s Ortiz has spoken about the status of his contract with the company, stating that he has “about a year left” on it.
Speaking in an interview with Wombreezy on YouTube, the former TNA World Tag Team Champion spoke about how long he has left on his AEW contract, stating that he only has about a year left. Ortiz said:
“As of right now, I have about a year left with the company, give or take. I would love to stay there. I love working at AEW.”
He then discussed his role in the company, and said that he has been focusing on his backstage roles of coaching and producing, but also said that he takes these skills into his matches, meaning he clearly doesn’t think his time in the ring is over just yet. He said that he enjoys his newfound backstage roles and that they are something he has always wanted to do.
When Did Ortiz Last Wrestle For AEW?
Ortiz last competed for AEW on the January 20, 2024, episode of Collision, where he teamed up with Eddie Kingston, taking on Blackpool Combat Club’s Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli. During this match, Ortiz suffered a torn pectoral muscle injury and has been out of action ever since.
