An AEW star has opened up on the lessons he learned from Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
Before joining AEW in 2023, Roderick Strong spent six years in WWE, first as part of NXT’s Undisputed Era, and later the Diamond Mine group. Despite having 16 years in pro-wrestling under his belt by the time he signed with WWE, Strong still learned new things from Triple H while he was part of the promotion.
Speaking to Tony Sciavone on What Happened When, Strong said that The Game helped him understand things from a different viewpoint in the ring.
“He really helped me with understanding taking my time and when it’s necessary and when it’s not. Really helped me understand how to view things from a character interaction standpoint and not just a ‘thing I want to do’ standpoint, because those don’t always mesh.“
Continuing, Strong praised both Triple H and Shawn Michaels for being available as often as possible and for keeping an open mind about his ideas.
“It’s been stated about him how hands on he is and how helpful. If you have questions and stuff, he was always open to answer anything and be available at least for a little bit, you know as much as he could. That was something I really liked about him, him and Shawn, just helping keep an open mind about things. ‘No idea’s a dumb idea, it just sparks other ideas.’“
Paul Heyman Believes Triple H Is The Right Man To Lead WWE
In a recent interview, Paul Heyman said Triple H was the right person to lead WWE in the modern era. Heyman explained that the Chief Content Officer has to juggle the expectations of fans, TKO executives, and TV networks, and Triple H’s nature as a collaborator who is open to changing direction makes him well-suited to the current environment.
