AEW appears to have moved quickly to secure one of its rising champions, with a new report indicating a fresh deal has already been agreed.
According to Fightful Select, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla has signed a new multi-year contract with the company, despite still being under her original two-year agreement. The report notes that AEW made the decision early due to their satisfaction with her performances since arriving in the promotion.
“The company was so happy with her performance, they made the move to sign her to a new, multi-year deal not even a full year into the original deal,” the report stated.
Thekla’s Hot Start With AEW
Thekla debuted in AEW in May 2025, following a run in Japan, and immediately made an impact by targeting Jamie Hayter. She later aligned with Skye Blue and Julia Hart as part of the Triangle of Madness, further establishing herself within the women’s division.
Her rise continued earlier this year when she captured the AEW Women’s World Championship by defeating Kris Statlander on Dynamite, cementing her position as one of the company’s top stars.
In a recent interview with Chris Jericho, Thekla reflected on her journey to AEW, admitting she always believed she would end up there.
“I had a good feeling I would end up in AEW one day,” she said. “It just had more of a punk feel and more of a fresh feel.”
With this new reported deal, AEW has ensured that one of its current champions remains a key part of the roster for the foreseeable future.
