AEW reportedly has plans for Toni Storm‘s return to television, though fans may have to wait longer before the former AEW Women’s World Champion competes in the ring again.
Toni Storm has been absent from AEW programming since March 2026, but a series of mysterious video packages shown during WrestleDream earlier this month suggested that her return could be approaching.
A new report from Fightful Select has provided further insight into AEW’s plans for the popular wrestler, suggesting her eventual comeback could begin with appearances outside the ring.
Toni Storm’s AEW Return Reportedly Not Imminent
According to Fightful Select, the outlet contacted sources within AEW following the mysterious tapes that aired during WrestleDream. The videos appeared to reference Toni Storm’s popular “Timeless” character, raising speculation that AEW was preparing to bring her back to television.
However, sources reportedly indicated that Storm is not expected to return to in-ring competition in the immediate future. Fightful Select reported that “Storm’s in-ring isn’t imminent, but there could be other elements involving her that get worked in.”
The comments suggest that AEW could begin incorporating Storm into its programming before she is ready to wrestle again. However, the report did not provide specific details about what those appearances might involve or when they could begin.
Storm’s last appearance on AEW television came on March 18, 2026, when she was discovered bloodied on the floor backstage. The incident marked the beginning of her extended absence from the promotion’s programming.
Her most recent match took place earlier that month at AEW Revolution 2026, where she defeated Marina Shafir. Since then, Storm has stayed away from AEW television, raising questions about both her eventual return and the direction of her character.
The mysterious WrestleDream tapes represented the first indication that the promotion could be preparing to revisit her storyline. Storm’s “Timeless” persona has become one of the most recognisable in AEW’s women’s division, making her return a significant development.
While the latest report suggests that plans involving Storm are being discussed, it remains unclear whether those plans will lead to an immediate television appearance. AEW has not officially announced a return date for Storm, and no timetable for her next match has been confirmed.
