The final episode of AEW Dynamite before AEW Double or Nothing delivered a chaotic night packed with brawls, interference, title implications, and a major injury announcement as multiple rivalries escalated heading into Sunday’s pay-per-view.
The show opened with Jericho and The Young Bucks teaming up against The Don Callis Family and Ricochet. Despite strong chemistry from Jericho, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson throughout the match, outside interference once again proved decisive. David Finlay and Clark Connors appeared late in the bout, helping Andrade El Idolo pin Matt Jackson for the victory.
After the match, complete chaos broke out when Toa Liona attacked Matt Jackson before Jack Perry and The Hurt Syndicate entered the fight, leading to a massive ringside and crowd-wide brawl.
The violence continued in an Anything Goes Match between Mark Briscoe and Tommaso Ciampa. Weapons including chains, ladders, thumbtacks, barbed wire, staple guns and tables were all used during the brutal contest. Briscoe ultimately secured the win after delivering a J-Driller through a barbed wire-covered table before finishing Ciampa with a Froggy Bow.
Swerve Strickland and Bandido also erupted into another backstage rivalry-fuelled fight after Bandido attacked Strickland during Prince Nana’s introduction segment. The confrontation spilled around ringside before Strickland escaped further punishment.
A major development then came backstage when Willow Nightingale announced she suffered a shoulder injury during her Collision match against Red Velvet and would be forced to relinquish the TBS Championship as well as withdraw from the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament.
Later in the night, Jon Moxley battled Kyle O’Reilly in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match. The physical contest went the full time limit without a winner after O’Reilly trapped Moxley in an ankle lock as time expired. Because he survived the full time limit, O’Reilly earned a future Continental Championship opportunity and immediately requested that the eventual title match be contested with no time limit.
In women’s tag team action, Athena and Triangle of Madness defeated Thunder Rosa, Mina Shirakawa and The Brawling Birds after Thekla sprayed mist into Thunder Rosa’s face behind the referee’s back.
The main event saw Darby Allin successfully defend the AEW World Championship against Mike Bailey while challenger MJF sat at commentary. Bailey pushed Allin to the limit with several near falls, but Allin eventually forced him to tap out with the Scorpion Death Lock after a hard-fought battle.
After the match, MJF attempted to attack Allin with hair clippers in an effort to humiliate him ahead of Double or Nothing. However, Allin turned the tables and briefly held the clippers against MJF before the challenger escaped up the ramp to close the show.
