AEW Dynamite delivered a packed night of action on March 4 as the road to Revolution continued to take shape. Championships were on the line, rivalries intensified, and the main event saw a major shift in the AEW World Trios Championship picture.
Last night’s AEW Dynamite opened with the AEW World Championship on the line as MJF defended against Kevin Knight. Knight impressed early with his speed and athleticism, repeatedly catching the champion off guard and even scoring several near falls that had the crowd believing an upset might be possible. However, MJF ultimately weathered the storm and capitalised on a missed UFO Splash before connecting with the Heat Seeker to retain his title.
After the match, MJF attempted to continue the attack on Knight until “Hangman” Adam Page appeared on the stage. The distraction allowed Mike Bailey to ambush the champion from behind and send him to the floor, further escalating tensions between Page and MJF.
Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin later teamed up to face Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors. The action began before the bell as both teams brawled on the ramp. Cassidy and Allin eventually gained the upper hand after a chaotic sequence that included Allin hitting a Coffin Drop to the outside. Cassidy followed up with the Orange Punch on Connors to secure the victory.
Their celebration was short-lived. David Finlay attacked from behind and, with help from Kidd and Connors, laid out Cassidy and Allin before standing tall over them.
In tag team action, The Brawling Birds, Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter, made quick work of The IInspiration. Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay attempted to start a dance party before the bell, but Windsor and Hayter attacked them from behind and quickly finished the match with their Two Birds, One Stone double team move.
Adam Page also competed in singles action against Marty Snow. The match lasted only moments as Page ran through Snow and finished him with the Buckshot Lariat.
Afterwards, Page called out AEW World Champion MJF and issued a heated warning ahead of their upcoming press conference. The confrontation escalated when members of The Don Callis Family attacked Page from behind, leading to a chaotic brawl that eventually set up the main event later in the show.
Jon Moxley then faced Hechicero in a hard-hitting contest that featured both technical wrestling and brutal strikes. After surviving a number of submission attempts, Moxley finally secured the win with the Death Rider. Following the match, Konosuke Takeshita appeared at ringside and pointed toward the Revolution sign while staring down Moxley.
The AEW Women’s World Championship was also on the line as Thekla defended against Thunder Rosa. Rosa started aggressively and even sent the champion crashing into the barricade early in the match. However, Thekla regained control and ultimately retained the title after delivering a decisive Curb Stomp.
The situation escalated after the match as Kris Statlander and the Sisters of Sin appeared, forcing security to intervene before a full-scale brawl could break out.
In the night’s main event, the AEW World Trios Championship was on the line as Jet Set Rodeo, Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey defended against The Don Callis Family team of Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis.
The match was fast-paced from the opening bell with all six men trading offence. Bailey dazzled with several high-flying attacks, while Page and Davis exchanged heavy blows in the closing moments. Just as the champions appeared to have the match under control, MJF appeared at ringside and attacked Page, creating an opening for The Don Callis Family.
Okada followed up with the Rainmaker on Kevin Knight before Davis delivered a piledriver to secure the victory, capturing the AEW World Trios Championship for The Don Callis Family.
The show ended with The Don Callis Family celebrating their title win as tensions continued to build across the AEW roster heading toward Revolution.
