Several rivalries intensified on the March 11 episode of AEW Dynamite as the road to AEW Revolution continued to take shape.
Two championships were defended during the broadcast, while the show concluded with a heated confrontation between “Hangman” Adam Page and MJF that erupted into a wild brawl. Elsewhere on the programme, the Death Riders opened the night with a controversial win over members of the Don Callis Family, Kyle Fletcher retained the TNT Championship with assistance from Kazuchika Okada, and Willow Nightingale successfully defended the TBS Championship.
Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley of the Death Riders defeated Hechicero and Konosuke Takeshita to kick off the show. After a competitive opening exchange, Castagnoli ultimately secured the victory by raking Hechicero’s eyes and rolling him up for the pinfall. The situation escalated after the match when Don Callis, Mark Davis, and Lance Archer joined their allies to attack the Death Riders. Archer struck Moxley with his loaded cast, and Takeshita was handed a steel chair, but he hesitated and refused to use it, drawing frustration from the rest of the group.
The TNT Championship was then on the line as Kyle Fletcher defended against “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Bailey pushed the champion to the limit, landing several high-impact moves, including a poisonrana and a Tornillo to the floor. However, the match turned when Kazuchika Okada appeared at ringside and distracted Bailey. Fletcher capitalised by striking Bailey with the championship belt before finishing him with a brainbuster to retain the title.
Brody King scored a quick victory over Jiah Jewell, overpowering his opponent and ending the match with the Gonzo Bomb. After the match, Swerve Strickland appeared from the crowd wearing King’s mask and attacked him with a chain. King managed to fight back, snapping the chain and delivering a suplex before hitting a cannonball in the corner.
In tag team action, David Finlay and Gabe Kidd defeated Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin. The bout quickly spilled outside the ring and remained chaotic throughout. Clark Connors interfered late in the match by striking Cassidy with a tyre iron, creating an opening for Kidd to deliver a piledriver to Allin for the victory. Following the match, Roderick Strong entered the ring as Finlay, Kidd, and Connors surrounded Cassidy. Strong initially appeared ready to join the attack, but instead turned on the trio and helped clear the ring.
Willow Nightingale successfully retained the AEW TBS Championship against Persephone. The challenger showcased impressive offence, including a German suplex after evading a moonsault attempt. However, Nightingale reversed Persephone’s Razor’s Edge attempt into a surprise pinfall to keep hold of the title.
In the night’s main tag team match, Tommaso Ciampa teamed with FTR to defeat Mark Briscoe and The Young Bucks. The match featured chaos both inside and outside the ring, including Nick Jackson being sent through a table at ringside. Ciampa ultimately delivered a running knee to Briscoe to secure the victory. After the match, Ciampa continued the assault, striking Briscoe with steel chairs and delivering an Air Raid Crash onto the chairs.
The show concluded with a press conference moderated by Bryan Danielson between “Hangman” Adam Page and MJF ahead of their Texas Death Match at AEW Revolution on Sunday. The exchange quickly turned hostile when Page rejected a beer offered by MJF, leading to a brawl that spilled through the crowd and back to the ring. Page appeared poised to deliver another Dead Eye onto a barbed wire board, but MJF escaped through the crowd as the two men stared each other down to end the broadcast.
