AEW Dynamite featured a major AEW World Championship defence, the return of Mercedes Mone, and a chaotic Owen Hart Foundation Tournament main event on June 3.
The show opened with tensions boiling over between MJF and Rush. After a backstage confrontation escalated into a pull-apart brawl, the two men collided in a No Count-Out Match for the AEW World Championship. Following a physical battle that spilled throughout the ringside area, MJF retained the title by forcing Rush to pass out while trapped in a submission hold targeting his injured arm.
MJF’s celebration was short-lived as Mark Briscoe arrived to confront the champion. Briscoe later defeated Lio Rush and delivered an emotional promo directed at MJF, referencing the loss of his brother Jay Briscoe, before demanding an AEW World Championship opportunity.
Elsewhere, Thekla continued making her presence felt alongside Julia Hart and Skye Blue. The self-proclaimed “Idol Killer” declared her intentions for Forbidden Door while outlining the goals of the Triangle of Madness faction.
Andrade El Idolo picked up a quick victory over DK Vandu before turning his attention toward MJF. The segment then took a major turn when Don Callis revealed Kevin Knight as the newest member of The Don Callis Family.
Knight successfully retained the AEW TNT Championship later in the night, defeating Mike Bailey with assistance from Callis and Jake Doyle. Following the match, Knight declared his intention to become “Kevin Two Belts” by eventually adding the AEW World Championship to his collection.
Backstage, The Dogs boasted about their attack on Christian Cage and Adam Copeland from the previous week before being confronted by The Young Bucks, who made it clear they had concerns about the tag team title picture.
One of the night’s biggest surprises came when Mercedes Mone was revealed as the mystery Wild Card entrant in the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Mone defeated Alex Windsor via submission with the Statement Maker to advance to the next round.
The main event saw Will Ospreay face Mark Davis in the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semi-finals. What began as a hard-fought contest eventually descended into complete chaos as multiple wrestlers from across AEW became involved around ringside.
Despite interference from members of The Don Callis Family and several other competitors, Ospreay survived the chaos and forced Davis to submit, securing his place in the tournament final.
