A chaotic night of title matches and shifting alliances on AEW Dynamite has reshaped the landscape heading into next week’s AEW World Championship clash.
Kevin Knight opened the show by retaining the TNT Championship against MJF in an upset finish, using a low blow and inside cradle after MJF attempted to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF attacked Knight’s knee post-match before Darby Allin made the save, leading to a tense confrontation also involving Brody King, who warned Allin ahead of their main event.
Elsewhere, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor secured a dominant tag win, while backstage segments saw tensions build across multiple divisions, including ongoing issues involving Thekla, Skye Blue and The Brawling Birds.
Kazuchika Okada successfully defended the AEW International Championship against Ace Austin, finishing the match with a Rainmaker after a competitive exchange. Post-match, Konosuke Takeshita emerged to signal his intent to challenge for the title.
In tag team action, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defeated RPG Vice, though chaos erupted at ringside as FTR, Stokely Hathaway and members of The Conglomeration brawled into the crowd. The win was followed by a post-match attack, with Cage forcing Trent Beretta to say “I quit” ahead of their upcoming stipulation match.
The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles remained with Divine Dominion, as Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander fell short despite a competitive effort that showed signs of miscommunication between the challengers.
Rush also picked up a decisive victory in a short match, continuing his aggressive run.
Backstage, multiple angles progressed, including an attack on Chris Jericho by The Demand, further escalation between MJF and Andrade El Idolo, and updates from Samoa Joe and The Opps, who outlined their plans moving forward.
The main event saw Darby Allin retain the AEW World Championship in a brutal match against Brody King. After a hard-hitting contest that spilled to ringside and the commentary area, Allin secured the win with consecutive Coffin Drops.
Following the match, Kevin Knight was shown watching from the crowd, with his AEW World Title opportunity against Allin now set for next week, although he must first defend the TNT Championship against HOOK on Collision.
