Bayley has fuelled speculation about a potential AEW appearance through a series of social media teases involving Mercedes Moné, but those within the promotion reportedly do not expect her to appear at AEW All In.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez addressed the recent speculation surrounding Bayley’s WWE future and the possibility of her appearing for AEW. According to Alvarez, people he has spoken to within AEW are themselves unsure what to make of the apparent teases.
“I can tell you, at least among those in AEW, first off, everyone I talked to is also baffled by this thing.”
Alvarez reported that the belief within AEW is that Bayley remains under contract with WWE for considerably longer than some may have assumed. Her current deal could potentially run until January, before accounting for any additional time WWE might add.
“The belief is her deal is not up for a while, maybe as long as January, and that is if they don’t add any time. Long story short, she won’t be at All In.”
Bayley Fuelled Speculation Of An AEW Move With Cryptic Social Media Post
Speculation intensified on August 9 when Bayley shared training footage featuring several wrestlers, including Moné. She captioned the post “all or nothing, baby” and used a song titled “All In”.
The references attracted attention because All In and Double or Nothing are two of AEW’s biggest events. Bayley’s current absence from WWE television, combined with her appearance alongside Moné, led to further speculation about whether the posts were deliberately hinting towards AEW.
However, Alvarez said those within the company do not believe the teases will lead to a match between Bayley and Moné at Wembley Stadium.
“So I don’t know why she and Mercedes are teasing a match at All In. It ain’t gonna happen.”
Dave Meltzer recently reported that the four-time WWE women’s champion has not signed a new WWE contract and has a decision to make regarding her future. Her current absence from television followed an angle at Madison Square Garden in which Lyra Valkyria left Bayley down before later declaring on Raw that she had “run Bayley out of here”.
Despite the recent speculation, there has been no confirmation that Bayley is leaving WWE or heading to AEW. Based on Alvarez’s report, those within AEW currently expect her to remain unavailable when All In takes place at Wembley Stadium on August 30.
