The card for AEW Revolution continues to take shape, with two new championship matches now officially added to the pay-per-view lineup.
AEW President Tony Khan confirmed on social media that the AEW Women’s World Championship and AEW World Trios Championship will both be defended at the March 15 event.
The women’s title match stems from the ongoing rivalry between Thekla and Kris Statlander.
Thekla captured the Women’s World Championship several weeks ago when she defeated Statlander in a brutal Strap Match. She successfully retained the title against Thunder Rosa during the March 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Following that match, Statlander returned to the ring and prevented The Triangle of Madness, the group consisting of Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue, from continuing their attack on Rosa.
The confrontation quickly led to a rematch being announced, with Thekla now set to defend the championship against Statlander in a two-out-of-three falls match at Revolution.
Which Other Title Bout Was Also Added To The AEW Revolution Card?
Another championship bout was also confirmed after the main event of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.
Earlier in the night, Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis captured the World Trios Championship, defeating Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey.
With Page now scheduled to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship at Revolution, the newly crowned champions will defend the Trios titles against Knight, Bailey, and Místico at the pay-per-view.
Revolution is scheduled for March 15, with several major championship matches now confirmed for the event.
