Raw GM Adam Pearce has a definitive answer for all those who have asked him the same question.
“God willing, I will never, ever have another professional wrestling match in my life. I am directing this specifically into the lens. I am staring into and across and through the fourth wall to every wrestling fan who every day of my life asks me that exact question that he just did. I have no interest in putting on my size thirteens, lacing them up, putting on tights. You do not want to see a 48-year-old man wear tights. Okay, I know what I look like in tights. I prefer to be covered up. I’m bald as hell, which is sexy. Bald is beautiful but I have no interest. I’ll say it again: no Interest,” he said as a guest on the Super Cool Radio show.
Pearce though is very proud of of GM counterpart and colleague Nick Aldis for getting back into the ring with Gunther at SummerSlam.
“I have a long history with Nick. We have in in a lot of ways somewhat mirrored our path to WWE, if you will. I was NWA champion. He was NWA champion. He’s the SmackDown GM. I’m the Raw GM. In a lot of ways, I kind of helped him along in finding that footing into that position but I know the passion that he has for our industry. I know the path that he’s carved to get where he is today,” he said. “I’m glad he got to scratch that itch. We’ll see if that leads to more matches for Nick or if that was a one and done. I know that he was pretty fulfilled on that night, win, lose, or draw, and yeah, he lost the match but I think he won the respect of many a wrestling fan that night,” he said. “I gave him a big high five afterwards. Told him I loved him and I was proud of him and I meant every single word of it.”
Pearce it seems has no desire to give up his position any time soon though.
“My grandma used to always say: “If you find a job you love, you never work a day in your life.” I firmly believe that. I have the absolute job that I think I was born to do, jobs plural and I love it,” he said.
