Adam Page is reportedly set to take time off from AEW following his loss to MJF at AEW Revolution.
At AEW Revolution, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page put everything on the line when he challenged MJF in a Texas Death Match. The Salt of the Earth’s World Championship wasn’t only on the line that night, as Page had also given his word he would never challenge for the gold again if he lost the match.
He might have regretted that promise as the match saw MJF defeat Page by wrapping a steel chain around his neck and hanging him from the top rope. After he dropped to the floor, Page was unable to answer the 10-count and lost any chance of winning the World Title again.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Page is now expected to take some time off from AEW TV. It’s not clear if the hiatus will begin immediately, or if Page will appear on Dynamite to address the biggest loss of his career. It is also unknown how long Page is expected to be absent from the promotion.
Adam Page Previously Took A Break After AEW Revolution 2024
Two years ago, Adam Page took a hiatus under similar circumstances after Revolution 2024. That year, Page competed against Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe in a Three-Way Match for the AEW World Championship, then held by Joe.
Page lost that match after Joe locked him in the Coquina Clutch, and he tapped out, either because the move was too much for him or in a last desperate attempt to stop his hated rival, Strickland, from winning the title.
On the Dynamite after the event, Hangman was written off TV when the Young Bucks suspended him for attacking referees. The absence lasted for four months, with Page returning that July as a surprise entrant in the Owen Hart Cup tournament.
