There is growing concern within AEW that Adam Cole may never step foot into a ring ever again.
Speaking about Adam Cole’s situation on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez shared that there is a growing concern backstage at AEW that Cole may never wrestle again after he was forced to pull out of his scheduled TNT Title match against Kyle Fletcher at All In: Texas due to an undisclosed injury.
Since All In, it has been reported that Cole is suffering from another concussion, and Alvarez stated that it may be the case that we will never see the former ROH and NXT champion back in the ring again. Alvarez said:
“He’s still having a lot of problems and as you can hear from the interview here, I mean, he’s still not flying, which is bad… I think the feeling is that he may not ever wrestle again, and it’s a very strong feeling in that direction… My guess is he’s probably done even though it has not been made official, but we’ll wait and see.”
What Will Adam Cole Do If He Is Forced To Retire?
If Adam Cole is forced to retire from in-ring competition due to recurring injuries, he could transition into a non-wrestling role within AEW, as has been the case with retired stars such as Bryan Danielson and Christopher Daniels, who have taken on roles as agents, producers and commentators since their in-ring retirements.
It has not been confirmed if Cole will definitely retire, and Tony Khan recently spoke in an interview, stating that he thinks Cole may be able to wrestle again if the “right situation” arises for him.
