An AEW star, who has been with the company since early 2020, could be leaving the company as their contract is set to expire quite soon.
Anna Jay, who teams with Tay Melo as TayJay in AEW, could be done with the company soon. Fightful Select has reported that Jay’s contract with the promotion will expire in “the next few months”, and there has been no news on whether she and the company have been negotiating a new deal, although it is believed that AEW do want to keep her signed to them.
Jay and Melo have been working as a tag team consistently on the company’s programming as of late, and they most recently competed in the Women’s World Tag Team Title tournament on the November 19 three-hour special Collision/Dynamite live show, but unfortunately were unable to advance in the tournament, as they were knocked out in the quarter finals by Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.
When Did Anna Jay Make Her AEW In-Ring Debut?
Anna Jay made her in-ring AEW debut on the April 1, 2020, episode of Dynamite, where she was defeated by Hikaru Shida. Prior to her in-ring debut, she was first seen on the company’s programming in a video package from the first All Out in 2019 in a video package which hyped up Wardlow.
Jay has not held any championships in AEW, but she did win a Dynamite Award in 2022 for the Biggest WTF Moment for her Street Fight on New Year’s Smash, where she teamed with Tay Melo (then known as Tay Conti) to take on The Bunny and Penelope Ford.
