Court Bauer begins by explaining how the partnership with Veeps has opened up a lot of new avenues and possibilities for MLW. The promotion did a show in Los Angeles (where Veeps is based) 18 months ago and the right people took notice and the Veeps and LiveNation ecosystem was opened up to Court Bauer and his team.
Joe Dormbowski shares his excitement for the first MLW PPV in seven years, since before even he joined MLW. Why Chicago? Bauer says that it’s all been possible through Veeps. He mentions the streaming platform hosts 100 million users per month, giving MLW the potential for the most possible eyes.
Asked about the potential of doing a show in Peurto Rico, Bauer mentions there were plans before Covid-19. He then indicates his desire for MLW to go back down there, mentioning Savio Vega’s involvement with the promotion.
IWGP World Champion Yota Tsuji vs. Trevor Lee could steal the show and the partnership with New Japan Professional Wrestling has allowed the logistics to flow as smoothly as possible. Bauer is really grateful for the alliance.
Given everything MLW has been through, Bauer mentions the wisdom of Paul Heyman and notes MLW’s identifying factors as persistence and resilience. Bauer also emphasizes how grateful he is for MLW fans being dedicated.
If the Glasgow Boys on Top defeat the Good Brothers for the MLW Tag Team Championships, Bauer is open to the possibility of allowing them to use the Freebird rule.
One of the biggest unpredictables in MLW’s 2026 has been the tapings. There were delays in production deals but now there is momentum and Bauer says the top of 2027 should provide some relief for the post-production team.
When Tessa Blanchard was announced for the card (taking on Keyra), there was a delay in her MLW debut. Bauer mentions that the online contention was overblown and that nothing was out of the ordinary aside from the timing.
MLW’s biggest transformation, Bauer says, has been the locker room energy. Everyone’s more united and the energy from the leaders of the roster. Bauer has learned a lot as the architect of MLW and is always excited to learn something new.
Though Shotzi is still MLW Women’s Champion, She has since signed with TNA. She will not be on Saturday’s card. As for the championship, Bauer says the answers will be on future episodes of MLW Fusion.
MLW has been able to put people together who otherwise have been unable to be in the same place at the same time. Bauer is a firm believer and understands that forgiveness is a part of being in the line of work he is in. The light bulb goes on, the trust is given, and success is the reward. It’s not foolproof, but Bauer says trying to give people another chance is the biggest thing.
Bauer says this show is going to be the spearhead for amazing momentum that MLW will use to get even better after a very successful run in 2026.
The sold-out show will be available on veeps.com and the card will start at 8pm EST.
