This week, Sunday Night’s Main Event Radio’s Donnie DaSilva was joined by one of the hottest free agents in the business: Alex Shelley.

On chatting with younger wrestlers:
I definitely gravitate towards younger wrestlers. I think that’s one of the reasons I like working with them so much. I’m so eager to be a part of their team. It’s not me giving Nick Wayne and Jordan Oliver advice as much as it is the three of us our team, I feel like we’re a crew. It’s not so much me showing Masha [Slamovich] how to do certain things and spitballing ideas back and forth. It’s me listening to Mike Bailey put a match together.
On his relationship with Kevin Nash:
I remember Kevin said, when he first got to TNA to do Paparazzi Productions, which was like his second run with company, they had told him that they wanted me to be his young boy. And after we did the first cluster of interviews, he said, “There’s no way I’m gonna treat this guy like that.” He’s just not that guy. I’m gonna have more here. And I learned from Kevin. If Kevin Nash could have done that for me when I was 22, and he was going to elevate me that way then I’m for sure going to do that with others. And you just learn from example and Kevin helped me so much.
On addressing the rumors of being signed by AEW:
No, I wouldn’t share any of that. Loose lips sink ships
On his WWE NXT run being cut short in 2020:
My introduction to NXT was a little bit different. So I actually did a series of house shows, and then debuted on TV, which was the norm. And after my match, I talked to WWE. I was very interested in going there, and it looked like it was going to line up. But, this was all starting the maturation process around late January, early February, as COVID was starting to declare itself, which it had already been around. But now we’re starting to hear more and more about it.
