For Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun, it doesn’t matter who it comes from. So long as they get their respect.
In a recent interview with SlamWrestling.net, Toa Liona made the tag-team’s intentions clear going into their trios match with Ricochet against The Hurt Syndicate.
“When we go out there, we’re going to beat the living hell of each other. Just like two bulls, just going head to head, or two lions fighting survival of the fittest. So we’re excited for what’s to happen. And the aftermath is we’re going to get our respect from them, from this company, from the world … We’re here to stay.”
Following up on his tag-team partner’s answer, Bishop Kaun gives their All Out opponents their flowers but makes it know that Ricochet and Gates of Agony are ready for their moment.
“They can’t understand how vicious we’re all going to be. And we haven’t seen MVP in the ring, what? Only once in the past year too. So I don’t know what they’re gonna call but they’re all heavy hitters. They all have their technical abilities and speed but we’re three dangerous men on a mission. We’re going to make a statement.”
Speaking on their trios partner Ricochet, Gates of Agony seem to have found the perfect pairing. Ricochet is no stranger to the ropes and has found a new edge to his work both in the ring and character work. Gates of Agony are excited to see what else the future holds for the three of them.
Bishop Kaun spoke on how they made it impossible for Ricochet to consider another team when looking for allies. “He watched us versus JetSpeed, he was out there live on commentary. [He saw] how powerful, how vicious, how dangerous we could be … If anything, we’re all just going to elevate one another.”
Toa Liona spoke about Ricochet’s unbreakable work ethic. “He’s always ready to work. He’s very creative. Over 22 years, he’s a professional, and not just a professional. He is elite at what he does. So for us to see how he does it and what it takes to be that man, it’s amazing … He’s been a great friend, a great mentor.”
Ricochet and Gates of Agony face a tough test this Saturday when they get in the ring with Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP at All Out in Toronto. Their viciousness and confidence will surprise many fans.
