Gunther has proved his dominance in World Wrestling Entertainment after recapturing the WWE World Heavyweight title from Jey Uso. No one has proven to be a match for The Ring General.
Enter Goldberg.
The former WCW champion took umbrage at Gunther belittling him and his son at the Bad Blood PLE in October o, and he is ready to give Gunther a Jackhammer and take the title for his last match. Is tonight the night that Gunther is next?
We’ll find out tonight as we come to you from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA. Joe Tessitore and Jesse “The Body” Ventura kick off the show, discussing what to expect in the main event, as well as the other matches on the card.
Jesse Ventura is HYPED and ready for the night ahead in Atlanta! 😤@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/9YVcdg9QiA

Michael Cole and Wade Barrett have the call, and your First Match of the Night is…
Drew McIntyre (with Logan Paul) vs. Randy Orton(with Jelly Roll)
Two takeaways: Paul is not in the ring, and that’s all I care about.
Right from the start, he backs Orton to a corner and mounts with punches, and the Apex Predator gives a receipt to McIntyre. Orton clotheslines him out of the ring, but McIntyre slams his back on the commentary desk twice and then…
Ads (again, WWE. You can splurge a little for Picture in Picture? Sheesh!)
We come back and see Orton is in control until McIntyre whips him to the corner to aggravate his lower back. He chops his chest, and Orton no-sells. McIntyre gives him a Glasgow Kiss and goes up for a high-risk maneuver and misses, but Orton comes back with a powerslam. They go back outside the ring, and Orton slams him on the announcer’s table. He takes his focus away to deal with Paul and then gets punched by the Scottish Psychopath. He shoves him back in the ring, but Orton grabs McIntyre and lands the hangman DDT. Another distraction allows McIntyre to hit a Claymore for a two count.
Meanwhile, Jelly Roll and Logan Paul get in a shoving match, and the country star pushes him down on his butt. McIntyre dares Jelly Roll to come in and fight. He ain’t having that smoke, and McIntyre calls him pathetic. As he turns back to Orton, he delivers the RKO outta nowhere to McIntyre for the pin and the win.
Your Winner via Pinfall: Randy Orton
After the match, Paul punks out Orton with a punch. Jelly Roll comes in and pulls him off, then hauls off with a right hand of his own. As he checks on Orton, McIntyre hits a Claymore and lays out Jelly Roll cold until Nick Aldis, Adam Pearce, and company come out to separate them and get medical attention for the Grammy singer.
OH. MY. GOD.
After dropping @LoganPaul again, @JellyRoll615 just got hit with a Claymore from @DMcIntyreWWE! 🤯@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/xUF3nfORD1
— WWE (@WWE) July 13, 2025
Backstage, Aldis and Pearce argue with McIntyre and Paul, and I don’t know what will take place, but you know something big is gonna happen.
We also see Iyo asks and Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill ahead of the WWE Evolution PLE tomorrow night, until Naomi comes out and cheap shots Cargill until authorities come out to break it up. Nick Aldis gets on the mic and says he was going to discuss this later tonight. Since they can’t get along, he announces that ahead of their No Holds Barred match, there will be a special guest referee, and it’s Bianca Belair.
We see Doug Dellinger, former WCW head of security, as well as “Diamond” Dallas Page in the crowd, and Cole sends it to a video package of Goldberg and his vaunted win streak from the WCW days.
A streak that will never be forgotten. From the one and only, @Goldberg. 😤@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/QhE4XHNisE

But let’s head to the ring for another title match for the…
United States Championship: Solo Sikoa (with JC Mateo, Talla Tonga, and Tonga Loa) (c) vs. Jimmy Uso
So there are a few firsts in this match. This is Uso’s opportunity to win his first singles title, and this is the first title defense by Sikoa. Also a first is that The Bloodline has now been rebranded at MFT (which stands for “My Family Tree” and whoever came up with that lazy name should be hit with a Samoan spike.
The Atlanta crowd gives some heavy “USO!” chants, and he throws bombs at Sikoa. He counters with a back elbow, but Uso sends him out of the ring, and he goes flying. As the MFT stalks Uso, Sikoa tells them to back off. He goes for another high-risk maneuver, but Sikoa catches and hits a spinning uranage in the ring. He knocks Uso off balance, and as the ref backs up Sikoa, Tonga lays him out with a boot, and then…
Ads (I swear, WWE. Whichever of the Monkeys in the Truck are doing this, it really kills any interest in the match. UGH!)
We come back and learn Uso has been a victim of the numbers game by the MFT (which would have been nice to see before going to Ads!) Sikoa goes for a suplex on the apron, and Uso blocks the move. He gets pushed spine-first to the ring post, but then Uso comes back and nails Sikoa with a German suplex on the apron edge.
Big Jim leveled up for this one! 💪 😮💨@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/gdVLNBgMxs
— WWE (@WWE) July 13, 2025
He covers for a count of two, and then Uso lands with a hip attack in the corner. He climbs and nails the Uso splash and gets a close two count. He lines up for a spear, and Sikoa connects the charging Uso with a knee. Big Jimmy comes back with super kicks and climbs up the top turnbuckle, but Sikoa rolls out of the way. That doesn’t stop Uso as he gives everyone a corkscrew somersault senton. Again, Tonga tries to get in his grill, but Uso punts him from the apron. As he climbs back in the ring, Sikoa rolls him up as Tonga uses his big foot to keep Uso down and ensure the pin.
Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still WWE United States Champion: Solo Sikoa
After the match, they all beat down Uso, and Sikoa gives him a Samoan Spike. Before they can do more damage, Jacob Fatu comes out from the back, and the Samoan Werewolf is running roughshod on Mateo and Loa. He sees Tonga, and they stare each other down before throwing hands. Fatu sends the big man out and dives to the outside since he’s all gass and no brakes.
What a moment! 😲
Jacob Fatu has sent his message!! 😤@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/AoBntoMtuE

Another video package of Goldberg during his WWE run which their X/Twitter page calls legendary. As for me, allow me an…
(Author’s Note: This is all I will ever say on Goldberg’s run in WWE: The less said, the better.)
.@Goldberg's time in WWE has been absolutely legendary! 🙌@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/QNu0vpqhZB

Cathy Kelley catches up with Orton and Jelly Roll, who is still hurting. Orton feels bad about bringing the singer out, but Jelly Roll states he is no punk and he wants both McIntyre and Paul. Orton has an idea that they can pull it off at SummerSlam as the tag team, “RK-Roll.”
We know how I feel about Paul wrestling, but hey…show me what ya got WWE. Also, I’m curious how the RK-Roll merch is gonna look.
We see The Steiner Brothers in the audience, and then we go to your next match between…
Seth “Freaking” Rollins (with Paul Heyman) vs. LA Knight
While Knight doesn’t seem the worse for wear, Cole reminds us that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed put the hurting on Knight’s midsection with a spear and Tsunami, respectively.
Rollins draws in Knight and nails a shot to his ribs. He gets a high elbow, and then Knight knocks him out of the ring and bounces his head off the commentary desk (which is getting quite the workout tonight).
YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! @RealLAKnight is rolling 😮💨@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/wa9D8aRUHj
— WWE (@WWE) July 13, 2025
He gets up and gives a flying clothesline to Rollins and then…
Ads (*SIGH!* Again, WWE. Pacing is key)
We come back, and Rollins has Knight in a body scissor,s squeezing his bruised ribs (which would have been nice to see in Picture in Picture! Mega-Sigh!!). He gets Knight in a fireman’s carry to a knee to the gut, and Rollins follows with a splash but gets a two count. Fans chant for Knight as he fires back up and hits a clothesline to a jumping neckbreaker and then punctuates with a DDT on Rollins. He goes up the top turnbuckle, where Knight hits the leaping elbow drop for a two count. He stomps Rollins in the corner, and then follows with a hip attack in the corner. He attempts the BFT, but Rollins escapes the finisher. They both climb the top turnbuckle and battle up top. Knight is knocked off, but he quickly comes back until Rollins pulls him off and connects with a buckle bomb. Knight tries to fight, but his ribs are hurting. Rollins counters with a front senton and attempts a springboard moonsault. He misses and lands on his feet, but tweaks his knee, which has given him problems in the past. You can tell this is not what was expected as the doctor checks on Rollins. He gets back up, but Knight delivers the BFT to end it quickly.
Your Winner via Pinfall: LA Knight
Before we continue, I should give an…
(Author’s Note: As of this writing, nothing has been announced on Rollins’ prognosis. Here’s hoping that it is not serious, but you can tell this is going to put any plans WWE had for him in jeopardy.)
We see Akbar Gbajabiwmila from the upcoming American Ninja Warrior show in the audience, as well as Blake Monroe and Jacy Jayne from NXT, as they plug the Evolution PLE.
CAN'T. WAIT.
Which match at WWE Evolution are you looking forward to the most? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/w2NRUnQMvX
— WWE (@WWE) July 13, 2025
We also see 2 Chainz in the crowd, but more importantly…we don’t see Travis Scott. So, that’s a bonus.
Now it’s time for the Main Event, and it is for the…
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Goldberg
There are massive chants for “Goldberg” in Atlanta, and he comes out with Derringer, his son Gage, Ernest “The Cat” Miller, Josh Barnett, just to name a few.
FOR ONE FINAL TIME.
GOLDBERG. @nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/LY8DmLiYtb

He soaks in the adulation of the Atlanta crowd as Lillian Garcia gives boxing-style intros, and I agree that she absolutely nailed it.
Absolutely nailed it, @LilianGarcia 👏👏👏@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/rNsjtElGW7

The bell rings and Goldberg takes in the crowd before locking up. Immediately he shoves Gunther off, but The Ring General gives him a boot which barely fazes him. Same deal when he chops his chest, and Goldberg laughs it off. Gunter hits the ropes and gets knocked down with a clothesline. Goldberg is rocking the champ and goes for the Jackhammer, but Gunther kicks his braced knee to drop the WWE Hall of Famer. He climbs up top, but Goldberg sends him crashing hard to the mat. He attempts to hit the spear, and Gunther rolls out of the ring at the last second. They battle outside, and Gunther manages to miss a spear, as Goldberg crashes through the barricade and then…
Ads (Honest to God, WWE. Why?)
We come back, and Gunther continues to work the bad knee, torquing it to keep Goldberg off his feet and eliminate his arsenal. They slug it out, and Goldberg can’t put any more weight on his leg. The Ring General goes for a boot and he manages to chokeslam Gunther. Goldberg manages to hit body shots in the corner, and he dumps Gunther. Now he lines up for a spear, and Gunther ducks away again, but Goldberg knocks out the ref by accident. Gunther attacks the knee again, unstraps the brace, and uses it as a weapon on the surgically repaired joint. He parades around the ring and gets in Gage’s face and shoves him. Now, Goldberg’s son is hot, and he climbs over the barricade, where security manages to hold the younger Goldberg back. Gunther heads back in the ring, where Goldberg finally connects with the spear. He calls for the Jackhammer and delivers, but his knee goes out again. Now another ref comes out and Goldberg covers for one, two…ohhh, so close. Gunther locks in a sleeper and body scissors as Goldberg starts fading. He fights valiantly, but it’s ultimately too much as the ref calls it, and so…
Your Winner via Submission, and Still WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Gunther
After a commercial, we come back to Goldberg in the ring surrounded by friends and family as he gives thanks to the WWE Universe for his Wrestling career, and then the show ends at that point.
Thank you Goldberg. 👏👏👏@nbc | @peacockpic.twitter.com/QTxec1YzMM
