After winning the crown at Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes has another chance to face John Cena to retrieve the title at SummerSlam. He knew what the task was. Randy Orton arrived to simply congratulate him on succeeding in their match. Despite the slight hesitation Orton felt that prevented him from finishing the job. And speaking of interventions, Drew McIntyre appearing only produced sour looks on Randy and Cody’s faces. “The legend of Randy Orton is dead.” said McIntyre

He methodically wished Rhodes good luck because he wants to face the American Nightmare for the title given this headbutting has been 20 years in the making. McIntyre made the foolish mistake to continue to antagonize Orton till the moment he decided to shut him up with an RKO.

B-Fab & Michin vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Alba Fyre & Piper Niven – Women’s Tag Team Fatal 4-Way match

I never thought I would see Flair tag teaming with someone to get gold. Maybe, in the past she engaged in duo titles, but she has a persona that fits the solo act better. She works more efficiently as a singles competitor. Nevertheless, here we are… with Alexa Bliss of all people. There’s nothing wrong with her, mind you, yet the pairing is odd, and you can’t say otherwise.

Anyway, B-Fab was able to kick Flair down utilizing her long legs, unfortunately, her knee was attacked upon by the queen, which resulted in a near Figure 4. Charlotte was brutally sent into the corner, where Bliss tagged herself in. She went blazing after Fyre and B-Fab. Annoyingly so, she took waaaayyyy too much time to execute Sister Abigail when Michin came back with a Super Kick to her face.

Alba actually shocked me when she performed the… “Canadian Destroyer” on Michin before suffering at the receiving end of a choke slam from B-Fab. Piper Niven marched in and planted B-Fab. The Secret Hervice tried to team up to take out B-Fab, regrettably for them, Alexa came out of nowhere to stop them cold. Flair hit Piper with a speak.

Like I said, Flair is too egotistic to be pairing with anybody, it’s made evident when she patted Alexa on the head, resulting in a tag, nonetheless. Chelsea Green attempted a distraction, Charlotte delivered a big boot to the face, which allowed Alexa to perform a triumphant Twisted Bliss. That hug was weird…

Winners: Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair

Montez Ford, Johnny Gargano, Chris Sabin & Humberto vs. The Wyatt Sicks – WWE Tag Team Title opportunity

Sabin sent Dexter Lumis flying over his shoulders, then proceeded to trip Uncle Howdy off the apron. Joe Gacy came bulldozing Gargano off the ring, then he was nearly rolled onto perfectly. Dexter saved him. Luckily, Montez Ford threw both their asses out and flew onto them as well.

Meanwhile, Uncle Howdy disposed of Humberto close to the commentary table before turning his attention back to Sabin. He was left stunned when Howdy scared the living hell out of Sabin with his upside down grin. That was enough to trample Chris. Eric Rowan quickly dealt with Humberto and Ford, but Sabin was able to deliver a tornado DDT. Unfortunately, he didn’t have enough to capitalize. It looked like Gargano was going to help Chris, but he saw the threat that is Rowan, so he left Sabin to get mulled. Why was anyone really surprised?? Eric ended the match with an Iron Claw.

Winner: The Wyatt Sicks

Although Jade Cargill won the Queen of the Ring Tournament, Tiffany Stratton made the announcement that she’ll be facing Trish Stratus in a Championship match at Evolution. The Hall of Famer herself walked out just before that. This new information didn’t bother Cargill since she will face either women. Backstage, Cargill congratulated Stratus because they forgot she was also in the ring earlier, yet she’s attacked by Naomi’s briefcase. Jade had enough and demanded a match with Miss Money in the Bank.

Andrade & Rey Fenix vs. Fraxiom – Tag Team match

Andrade tried to land a hit on Nathan Frazer, but he kept dodging at a very effective rate. Unbeknownst to Andrade, Axiom was tagged in as he and his partner double team on El Edolo. A sequence of harsh kicks from everybody to their opposition ensued. Fenix avoided a massive tornado DDT from Axiom almost inconsequentially. It seemed like the ultimate challenge to take out Fraxiom given they haven’t lost since arriving to the blue brand.

Andrade and Rey did their best to out-maneuver their opponents, however, the relentless suicide dives kept knocking them off balance. El Edolo was able to perform the Three Amigos on Frazer as Fenix came close to ending Nathan with a big frog splash if it weren’t for his tenacity. Fraxiom executed their Spanish Fly Phoenix Splash combination, which almost granted them the victory, yet Rey stopped it with a Code Red Senton move.

Andrade caught Nathan with his reversal spin kick elbow, Rey nailed Axiom with the Adios Amigos, as Andrade concluded the fight in their favor with the Message.

Winners: Andrade & Rey Fenix

Jimmy Uso & Jacob Fatu vs. Solo Sikoa & JC Mateo – Tag Team match

Oof… Fatu looked even more bitter than when he arrived during the aftermath of his title loss to Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions. Just as the match begins, Sikoa tagged Mateo and rolled out of the ring. Fatu saw this and rushed towards his prey like a hungry and angry hyena. The moment Jimmy was brought in, he temporarily, for a few seconds, had a handle on JC until he got cut real quick by both men. Finally, Jimmy showed some life with a Samoan Drop.

Jacob got his wish when he was tagged in just as Sikoa came in, too. He headbutted Solo like a possessed individual hearing demons in their head. God damn… Fatu squashed Solo like a Mack truck. Now, he had each men cornered for his hip attacks. Irritatingly so, Mateo interrupted the proceedings. Jimmy came flying at JC, while Fatu did the same to Solo on the other side of the ring.

Right when Sikoa was going to deliver the Samoan Spike, Jacob managed to escape by planting his opponent face first against the mat. Sweet revenge with the final Moonsault from the top. The match ended, but Jacob was still thirsty for blood, so he was hoping to crash onto Sikoa through the commentary desk. But trouble appeared in the form of Tala Tonga and Tonga Loa as they beat the ever-loving Christ out of Fatu and Jimmy.

Winners: Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso
