For some people, it’s hard to let go of a grudge. The only way to get past it is to confront it at the source.  In the National Wrestling Alliance, Bryan Idol seeks to avenge himself against “Thrillbilly “ Silas Mason, who injured him not too long ago in Dothan. Also, Natalia Markova is looking to become the new number one contender for the NWA Women’s World Championship, held by Kenzie Paige. The only thing standing in the way of The Russian Crush is baby sister, Kylie Paige.

We’ll see later how things will shape up in the Hard Times signature event for this NWA POWERRR.

Right now, The Slimeballz are getting into all kinds of mischief in downtown Dothan. Tommy Rant and Sage Chantz break into a car and start siphoning gas…until they see Trevor Murdoch and Mike Knox.  Turns out, it was their car, and the Slimeballz beat a hasty retreat.

If I may channel my inner Hank Hill, when it comes to The Slimeballz, they just ain’t right in the head.

We come to you from the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, AL, for more Hard Times. Joe Galli, Billy Corgan, and Danny Dealz have the call. Your First Match of the Night is the…

Grudge Match: “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason vs. Bryan Idol

This is the first time Idol has been in the ring since breaking his collarbone in four pieces.  Oh, and if you wanna know what happened last time, check it out here:

Mason comes to the ring channeling his inner Terry Funk, with a Tee that reads, “I Broke Idol’s Collarbone,” as he takes his sweet time making friends in Dothan

They go eye to eye until Mason spits him in the face, and Idol takes him down and starts chopping in the corner.  Both men swing back and forth between the corners until Idol pulls down the straps and dives to finally knock down the Thrillbilly.  He goes for another stage dive, but Mason catches him.  He hurls Idol at a ring post to injure the right side of his collarbone, and then proceeds to torque his arm and shoulder using the barricades.  Mason then grabs the guardrails and dumps them on Idol, and then he goes to the timekeeper’s desk and grabs a steel chair.  He rams him shoulder-first into the post, wedges a guardrail to Idol’s trapezoid, and swings.  The match is all Big Daddy Thrill, as he sets up a powerbomb, but Idol reverses and dumps Mason back-first on the guardrail.

Back in the ring, they slug it out until Mason gives a short arm DDT on the bad wing of Idol, and then he grabs more chairs and sets them up between the turnbuckles.  He rushes, and Idol manages to escape as Mason goes face-first into the steel.  He goes for a knee, but Mason counters with a powerbomb on the chair to cover for a pin, but Idol kicks out.  They go to the high rent district where Idol nails an avalanche Exploder suplex, followed by a knee drop that only gets a two count.  But the end comes when Mason takes Idol on a ThrillRide, and he ends it with an emphatic victory.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason

Idol offers his hand, and Mason shakes it…and takes him on another ThrillRide to add insult to injury.

Meanwhile, at the BitCrush in downtown Dothan, EC3 talks with The Cashier about a vibe check, and he explains this is why he is an Overlord.

The Cashier also sees Tyler Franks and Hunter milling about.  It turns out that The Cashier does a newsletter, and he asks Hunter if he wants to comment on rumors he’s been stepping out on his fiancée, Kenzie Paige, and is making time with her sister, Kylie.  Hunter is not having this as he heads out of the store.  EC3 helps out The Cashier by saying he’s got a “Paige Turner” for his newsletter.

A bit on the nose, but then not all of us can be Lucid Luchadors™.

On Dothan Today with Chelsea, she congratulates Big Strong Mims on his recent win against Wrecking Ball Legursky, defending his NWA National title four weeks ago. Mims is succinct when he explains that he beats someone up, and that’s what it boils down to. She inquires about Joe Cazana and if his position as President of the NWA territories will affect him as champion. Mims starts to run Chelsea down before the feed goes out.

Well, it’s time for the Main Event, and this is a…

Championship Contenders Match: Natalia Markova vs. Kylie Paige

As Markova poses on the top turnbuckle for the Dothan crowd, Paige knocks her off and she stomps at The Crush.  Paige gives a delayed dropkick in the corner as Markova rolls out to the floor.  The ref starts to count as she climbs back, but Paige hits a missile dropkick to drop her back.  They brawl on the outside, and Markova throws her into the guardrails.  Paige is aggressive and slams her face first into the steel steps, then she connects with a hip attack.  Then she drags Markova up the ramp, and they continue to fight, where Paige gives a German suplex to her on the wooden stage and then throws her down the ramp.  Back in the ring, she goes for a cover, and Paige gets a two count.  She hits a snapmare and then rains elbows to Markova’s neck and chest area.  Paige adds more damage to Markova but can’t put her away

A jawbreaker later, Markova rolls her and nails a running knee, but can’t quite put away the feisty Paige sister.  She’s still in the driver’s seat and continues to rock her until Markova catches her with a neckbreaker.  There’s no quit in Paige as she keeps up the pressure, but Markova withstands the blows and manages to land a Jazz stinger, and she covers for a count of two.  Now she goes for her signature Beautiful Disaster kick that misses.  Paige tries to nail a hip attack that also misses the mark, but Markova comes back with a missile dropkick to cover, but she kicks out at two. She rushes and eats a Superkick as Paige covers for the one, two…nope, but so close.  Now, a Shining Wizard by Paige hits her square in the face, and she still can’t keep Markova down.  Paige then gets her in a fisherman’s buster but then drops Markova shoulder first to her knee to cover for one, two…kick out.

Markova finally nails the Beautiful Disaster kick in the corner.  Dazed, Paige wanders to Markova, who delivers a double underhook DDT and gets it in one, two, and three.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Natalia Markova

Markova has another bite at The Burke, as she is victorious over Paige, and now she’ll focus on Kenzie down the road as the show comes to a close.

Final Thoughts:

Mason/Idol brought the drama, and this time, no one was severely hurt.  I doubt this is the end of the feud, and if that is the case, I’d like another helping of the ultra violence.

Markova is the best choice to face Kenzie, and her facing Kylie as a gatekeeper gives a hint to what The Russian Crush is capable of down the road.

Until then, see ya next Tuesday!
