WWE is not too pleased that their stars are side by side with AEW stars in two projects.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE made a request to Netflix when it came to promoting the film Happy Gilmore 2.
AEW’s MJF stars in the movie alongside Adam Sandler with reports suggesting he plays Gilmore’s son. Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella and Bad Bunny make cameos in the film with Lynch and Bella needing stunt doubles, take that for what you will.
Before Netflix aired an ad for the movie during the June 16th episode of Raw they requested that MJF be edited out of the commercial and he was.
A similar situation has erupted over Amazon’s revival of American Gladiators with The Miz acting as the host and AEW’s Wardlow and Kamille are gladiators. The Wrestling Observer is also reporting that the WWE wasn’t too thrilled with AEW being part of the show alongside The Miz.
