WWE has confirmed that Goldberg’s upcoming match will be his last…but in what way?
In an email blast promoting the WWE World Heavyweight championship match between Gunther and challenger Goldberg on Saturday Night’s Main Event, the WWE stated this: “WWE announced today that individual event tickets for Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, July 12 — headlined by Goldberg’s final match versus WWE World Heavyweight champion GUNTHER — and Evolution on Sunday, July 13, in Atlanta will go on sale starting Wednesday, June 25 at 10am ET/7am PT via TicketMaster.com.”
It should be noted that the wording is “final match versus WWE World Heavyweight champion GUNTHER”, which taken literally could mean it is his last match against Gunther.
During the Bad Blood event, Gunther insulted Goldberg and his family. Returning on Raw this week, Goldberg confronted Gunther face to face and put him on notice.
“A few months ago, you started something with me and my family in Atlanta, Georgia, and I am going to make sure I end it in Atlanta, Georgia. You’re mine because you’re next!” he told Gunther.
