Hulk Hogan Hooters?
According to Business Insider, Hulk Hogan and his Real American Beer brand are making a play to save The Hooters restaurant chain.
In March of this year, Hooters filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company is $376 million USD in debt.
Real American Beer CEO Terri Francis confirmed the news saying: “Hulk Hogan and Real American Beer are fully committed to protecting and revitalizing the iconic American brand Hooters.”
Real American is so committed that they have already put together teams to supervise and improve the parts of the business that need a desperate boost.
“Cheap beer and fattening wings aren’t the food or drink of the younger generation. Hulk can solve that,” a person familiar with the bid told BI.
“If the bid to purchase Hooters is successful, a source familiar with the situation told Business Insider that the group would look to bring new revenue streams to the struggling restaurant, including merchandise,” also reported Business Insider.
One of the Hooters cofounders, CEO Neil Kiefer, has also submitted a proposal to purchase the company as well. Currently, Kiefer and Hooters Inc. oversees some franchised Hooters locations.
