Paul Roma has publicly declared that he wants to fight wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.
On yesterday’s Power and Glory Podcast hosted by The Great Emir and with regular guest wrestling legend Mario Mancini, Roma delivered the open challenge.
“There is an older gentleman out there, I think he has a couple of years on me, I don’t think we have spoken much about. I would love to get him into an octagon. Maybe I could put a bit of Paul Roma hurting upside his head,” he said.
When asked about whom he was referring to, Roma elaborated:
“I am talking about none other than…BROTHER!…Hulk Hogan!…I want to slap the taste of ‘Brother!’ right out of his mouth. Every other word that comes out of his mouth is ‘Brother!’ so when I slap the taste out I will say ‘How does that feel, BROTHER?’,” he said.
“Are you serious Paul?” asked host Master Emir.
“Why not? They (Hogan and Eric Bischoff) are talking about putting together some shoot wrestling? He has a song and he claims to be a Real American. Me? I am a real American patriot. I say let’s have at it! Let’s do it! I am willing to lose. The question is, is he willing to lose?” he answered and asked.
Roma, 65, detailed his fighting background and his ability back in the day. Roma did have three professional boxing matches after leaving WWE. He won two of those three bouts.
“I know this is going to sound kind of weird to our fans but I enjoyed getting kicked in the head. That’s what really got me riled up that I could spar with the other guy. To me, it wasn’t fair. I was stronger than them, that inner attitude….I walked away from so many disagreements and fights because I wasn’t worried about getting beat up. I was worried about the damage I would do to somebody and I avoided everything as best that I could. I was actually afraid, if that makes sense,” he said.
There has as of yet been no response from the 71-year-old, Hulk Hogan, who underwent neck fusion surgery back in May.
