I’m rather disappointed that we started the evening with Mister Saint Laurent on stage, yapping about some nonsense or another being Donovan Dijak getting screwed out of his Championship match against Matt Riddle due to the attempted intervention of the briefcase Scramble match winner, Mads Krugger. Just as Riddle made his way to the ring, the Sentai Death Squad assaulted him. Luckily, Riddle had Tom Lawlor on his side as chaos continued to erupt.
And if things weren’t too much already, Cesar Duran made his presence known as the MLW President. He decided to sanction a Chicago Street Fight between the Filthy Bros and CONTRA Unit right now.
Filthy Bros vs. CONTRA Unit – Chicago Street Fight match
While Lawlor pursued Krugger outside the ring with a chair in hand, Riddle was tangled up with Babathunder near the entrance. The three chops Lawlor delivered to Krugger were useless, each less impactful than the last one. That’s why it was easy for Mads to regain control. And speaking of control, it was difficult for Riddle to dispose of Babathunder given his intimidating skills to inflict pain. I swear I saw Matt’s soul leave his body for a second.
Matt used a Lacrosse stick to hit Krugger with, however, Babathunder charged at Riddle with a kendo stick to his injured ribs. He got back up with a stapler to Krugger’s temple and crotch. Ha! At some point, CONTRA had the upper hand a great portion of the time. Weirdly, Riddle sprayed the fire extinguisher on his challenger, so they could release Lawlor.
Krugger’s sight may have been obscured and the kendo sticks to the back did do something for a short time, he came back like nothing happened. Both he and Baba forcibly sent Riddle into Lawlor in the middle of the ring. Matt was almost pinned if it weren’t for Tom’s quick thinking. As payback for that, they went after Lawlor while Riddle was unavailable.
The Filthy Bros were mostly on the receiving end of this madness, but they sometimes manage to return fire whenever they can. Baba was thrown out of the ring as the Bros focused on Mads. Lawlor squashed Baba through the table set up on the main floor. Riddle did his best with that frog splash, but it wasn’t enough. So, he tried something else, preparing for it from the top and was toppled by Donovan Dijak. That gave Mads the opening he needed to end this match.
Because of Dijak’s help, Krugger wasn’t entirely pleased given the satisfaction of pinning the World Heavyweight Champion was taken from him, he stared daggers into Donovan’s brain for a while.
Winners: CONTRA Unit
Ariel Dominguez vs. Myron Reed – Lightning match
It’s been so long since I’ve seen Myron Reed, two years apparently, according to commentary. He came in with red fiery hair back at Azteca Lucha as the Young Goat. It’s good to see him. Ariel was looking for something as he leaped into the air, but Reed caught him momentarily. Myron fought out of a roll up and connected with a fast kick to the jaw of Dominguez.
Ariel hit a move that might have pinned Myron if he hadn’t wasted time high fiving the audience. Reed was able to roll through a crossbody from his opponent, but he still suffered a near fall. Myron impressed by driving Dominguez’s head against the apron with a leg drop. Ariel returned fire with an amazing DDT.
Despite the pain Myron was in, being choked out like that, he stayed in the match and finished it with an explosive body splash. A great comeback. While he was gone bettering himself, he reckoned that the Middleweight class has been degrading, so he’s looking to reestablish some premium relevancy. It’s weird because Mistico was doing wonderfully.
Winner: Myron Reed
Dark Panther & Blue Panther Jr. vs. CozyMax – Tag Team match
Kojima and Black Panther began this match as Satoshi loomed over his challenger almost effortlessly. Dark temporarily took over until Kojima regained some momentum. Blue Panther Jr. saw this and blindsided him with a massive kick. That forced Shigeo Okumura to swoop in at the mercy of both Panthers.
It’s been said during the match that Kojima and Okumura haven’t been well connected since losing their World Tag Team Championships. Their communication skills are paying the price, hence the reason why they couldn’t hit that double suplex on the Panther brothers, instead they got flipped over. They were witnessed to be throwing hands at each other.
Their fuming has become particularly physical to the point that they didn’t pay attention to the 20 count and lost. Amazing how they had 20 seconds as opposed to 10 and still failed to return in the ring. Ha! I know they stopped caring, but nevertheless, it was disheartening to watch.
Winners: Blue Panther Jr. & Dark Panther
Shoko Nakajima (c) vs. Delmi Exo – World Featherweight Championship
We were just here, watching these two do battle for the title, but here we are again, doing it again so soon since then. This is evident that the women’s division is sorely lacking in participants. Where the living the hell are my ladies at?? Luckily, our new president is going to Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling to meet with officials into bringing more female wrestlers to MLW. Anyway, Delmi was looking to take Shoko seriously since their previous match didn’t display Exo doing any of that.
Delmi didn’t allow Shoko’s early antics to catch her off guard. She demonstrated that by delivering a fisherman’s suplex from the top. Exo took too much time to cover Nakajima, which granted the champ the space to recuperate. Later on, Delmi sent Shoko into the corner with high speed. It wasn’t sufficient, so Exo went for the Three Amigos in honor of Eddie Guerrero.
Nakajima and Exo have showcased their best, numerous back and forth are beginning to take effect on the combatants’ body. Shoko blasted Delmi’s resolve in the ass like a horse does to pricks and egotists. She almost got Exo pinned to rights with incredible adaptation of body control. Nakajima countered Exo’s attempt at the Delmi Driver with an overhead neck breaker.
Exo thought she had the champ done with the TKO. The disbelief on her face distracted her from Shoko stacking her up for a brief moment. Nakajima retained her title with a big Senton. Bravo!
Winner: Shoko Nakajima
The Rogue Horsemen vs. The Bomaye Fight Club, Paul London & Matthew Justice – War Chamber match
BRG is one of the most irritating humans I’ve had the displeasure of meeting, so for Matthew Justice to be the first from the opposing team to enter the Chamber, I can relax now… a little. I think Gosselin was trying to escape, but Justice caught up to the cockroach and banged his head against the steel of the Chamber. Matthew put it to great use, repeatedly tossing his challenger around.
Sadly, Gosselin managed to turn things in his favor by utilizing weaponry within the ring. He made the foolish decision to grin at Justice, who got back up like nothing happened. He ploughed Brett through the table as they were fighting to gain an advantage knowing someone is coming to help Gosselin. CW Anderson came charging at Justice like a madman. 2-on-1 became the norm in favor of the Horsemen. Justice went crashing into the broken table.
Fortunately, Alex Kane came to assist his teammate by bulldozing through the opposition. A sudden kick to the face from Gosselin stopped the momentum short. Brett was striking him with a baseball bat wrapped in bared-wire. It wasn’t until the wire was beginning to unravel that Kane rammed Gosselin in the gut, then performed a reversed suplex.
The slight leg forward Kane and Justice had was stomped on when Bobby Fish entered the fray. Mr. Thomas’ arrival changed the complexion for his team. The chair strike to the back had mere effect on him. There was so much anarchy in-ring that your eyes have to dart all over the place if you want to keep up. Nevertheless, Brock Anderson was the final one to enter for the Rogue Horsemen, clearing house.
It didn’t really matter when Paul London arrived because he was busted open by the bared-wire at the top of the cage. Everyone was bleeding. It took a bit, but Kane got came back with life in his attacks. He exploded on all four members of the Rogue Horsemen. I don’t know why, but he suplexed a cameraman for doing his job. Ha! Ha!
London spiked both Andersons when he almost got caught. Paul and Matthew worked together to collide into Fish in the corner. Justice was looking to do it again until CW threw a chair at his face. Brock and Brett had London tied as Brock continuously punched his head with a chain-wrapped fist. Paul was able to slip out of there after the second hit, which resulted in Gosselin getting accidently knocked out. To make matters more extreme, Matthew leaped from the top of the cage and landed on everyone except for Gosselin.
The Bomaye Fight Club sees this and pounced on him relentlessly with a conclusive Jackhammer from Mr. Thomas. After the match. Brett was arguing with his teammates, and Brock dropped him for slapping him. Fish was left confused, as was I.
Get ready for Summer of the Beast where Kenta challenges Matt Riddle for the World Heavyweight Championship. Alex Hammerstone looks for gold in Ultimo Guerrero’s National Openweight title. Also, Shotz makes her debut on June 26.
