Tag team action is where it’s at in the National Wrestling Alliance, and Blunt Force Trauma has always been dominant. Tonight, they will face a new test as the Overlord, EC3, teams with Pretty Boy Smooth from NWA Exodus Pro to offer a challenge.

Call it a preview of Crockett Cup challengers in the days to come.  But we come to you from the PowerrrStation at the WEDU Studios in Tampa, FL. Joe Galli, Billy Corgan, and Danny Dealz have the call as your First Match of the Night is between…

Wrecking Ball Legursky vs. Jay Bradley

Apparently, there’s been some animosity between The Fixers.  We don’t know what led to this, but the ringside fans chant, “Hug it out!”  Legursky tries to extend the olive branch, but Bradley ain’t having none of it as he pastes his former partner across the face.  The big men just start tearing up, and as Bradley gets hung up between the ropes, Legursky comes back with pendulum punches.  The boss tumbles out of the ring, and Legursky gives chase.  Bradley gets back in the ring, and as Legursky tries to make his way, The Boss connects with a big boot.

Now the action spills to the floor, and Bradley does not want to fix this partnership as he hits a DDT and covers for a two count.  A knee drop misses the mark, and Legursky fires up.  Both men are firing heavy artillery, but Legursky gets the knockout punch, and both men collapse in the ring, exhausted by the exertion.  Bradley gets to his feet and rushes, and collides with the Wrecking Ball.  He whips Bradley to the corner and follows with a hip toss (or, as Dealz put it, “He got some cake.”).  Bradley comes after him and connects with a belly-to-back suplex. He covers and puts his feet on the ropes, but the ref catches him red-handed.  He goes up the middle ropes for a springboard elbow drop, and Legursky rolls away before he can land the blow.  A shoulder tackle by Legursky ends it decisively in three.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Wrecking Ball Legursky

Farewell, Fixers.  Hopefully, this spat won’t last long.

Now that leads to Decision 2025, where certain members of the NWA are vying to be the president of the territory system.  AJ Cazana, Tommy Henry, Father James Mitchell, EC3, Joe Cazana, and the rest make their endorsements, but the best has to be “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason, as he throws her support for “The Mao Zedong of professional wrestling.  The Josef Stalin of the NWA:  Kenzie-By Gawd-Paige!”

Again, this puts American politics into perspective.  Not by much, but still…

After we get another Trevor Murdoch and Mike Knox campaign speech, we head to the ring for the…

Dane Memorial Tournament Semi-Finals: Colby Corino vs. Zyon (with Austin Idol)

Before we head to the match, allow me to add an….

(Author’s Note:  Burchill was the winner who was going to face Corino.  We find out from Corgan at Commentary…excuse me, “WPC” as he was referred in the broadcast, that Burchill was removed supposedly due to a “mysterious substance”; a lotion from a Far East country that made him test positive.  Due to that technicality, Zyon is in this match.  So now you know the rest of the story.)

Anyway, there is some great chain wrestling by both men, and Corino holds his own as he lands a short superkick and goes into an Olympic slam and then caps it off with a Sonsettler for a two count.  He sends the Masked man to the corner and mounts with punches, but Zyon manages to squirm out, and he drops Corino on his head on the top turnbuckle.  Now he’s in the driver’s seat as he drops the bombs and elbows on the Prince of Old School.  A neckbreaker by Zyon allows him to cover for a count of two.  He laces his fingers into a cravat and his neck, and Zyon digs his knee into his back. Corino tries to fight out, but Zyon continues to target the lower part of his body.  He nails another neckbreaker for a near fall and then comes back with a fist drop, and still, Corino fights out.  Another elbow drop by the masked man misses the mark, and Corino fires up with forearm shivers to Zyon’s face.  He follows with a package backbreaker for a two count, and then goes to the high-rent district for a swanton, and there’s no water in the pool.  While the ref checks on Corino, Zyon goes to Idol, and he provides him with some kind of substance in his hand.  Corino comes out swinging, and Zyon rubs whatever stuff was in his hand all over his eyes.  Blinded, he flails about as Zyon gives him a bodyslam to a cover, and The Prince still manages to kick out.  Frustrated, he lunges at Corino, who manages to move out of the way.  Zyon bounces off the ropes and Corino rolls him up as the ref makes the count.  That means…

Your Winner via Pinfall, and Advancing in the Dane Memorial Tournament:  Colby Corino

With that victory, Corino is a step closer to being a number one contender.

That is, if he can survive the challenge of the other contender, The Man They Now Call Frank.

Time for another Decision 2025 moment as Joe Galli sits down with Kenzie Paige and Pastor C-Lo on their campaign platforms.  We learn that they in the lead, and Galli turns to the Pastor about what his vision will be for the NWA territories.  C-Lo states he has a vision to see the NWA grow. When pressed how, he says it’s about talking to everyone, and Galli puts a pin in it since he has nothing specific. As for Paige, she states she is a winner and has never met a pastor she trusted. However, she is one of the people who promises bigger money and paychecks. Gallinquires how that will happen, and she said sponsorships and bands having collaborations with Corgan’s own Smashing Pumpkins.  Galli then decrees that there are no real answers here to be found and stops the whole thing.  After watching this, allow me a quick…

(Author’s Rant:  Where in the actual Red, White, and Blue F*** was this type of debate moderation in the ACTUAL ELECTIONS!!??!!)

Meanwhile, at the Paige house, Hunter and Kylie Paige are washing the car.  Hunter looks downcast and Kylie reminds him that she is “a fire sign, and a Sagittarius”, but that means she is going to say truthful but hurtful things, like the fact that she was surprised he couldn’t beat Markova weeks ago.  Hunter does not want to hear it, since between that and Bryan Idol getting in his grill last week, it’s a lot on his plate. Kylie assures she’s got Hunter’s back, and he will beat Bryan Idol.

Men, if you buy that, let me tell ya some strippers at Northern Exposure that will love you for your looks, and not the dollars in your wallet.

Now it’s time for the Main Event, and it’s tag team action between…

Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage and Damage, with Aron Stevens vs. EC3 and Pretty Boy Smooth (with Pastor C-LO)

Again, I am never a fan of Heel versus Heel matchups. That said, I am curious how this matchup will mesh well, especially since EC3 and Smooth also have C-Lo, who commentary notes is more a spiritual advisor even though he has a managerial license at Exodus Pro.  Plus, a couple of Exodus minions are walking around at ringside, so this could be an even-handed match.

Of course, it’s not a BFT match without the masked brawlers jumping at the bell, and they isolate EC3 immediately.  Carnage presses the attack until a Thesz Press by EC3 puts that to a halt.  A tag to Smooth, and he gives a big boot to Damage, followed by a slam and a leg drop to Carnage.  He even assists the Overlord of Exodus Pro with a splash to Carnage for a two-count.  A distraction by Damage allows Carnage to get back in control as he nails a power slam for the cover, and he kicks out at two.  That leads into…

Ads (and we get the Kenzie Paige campaign ad.  Here’s a little GIF of what that looks like:)

We come back, and Blunt Force Trauma have cut the ring in half and beat down EC3 mercilessly, making him an Overlord in Peril.  At one point, Stevens gets in on the action and punks him out when the ref’s back is turned.  Carnage sends him to the ropes, and EC3 reverses into a desperation flatliner.  He crawls to his corner, and Carnage grabs him by the foot, and he pushes the masked man away.  A hot tag to Smoot,h and he is a Pretty Boy en Fuego.  He even tosses EC3 to Damage to nail a cutter. Stevens stuns Smooth by bringing him neck down on the top rope, and EC3 commands the minions to get involved.  As he guided them, Carnage manages to connect with a standing dropkick.  The Overlord isn’t over…Man, as he hits a step up enzugiri to Damage and Smooth stun guns him on the top rope.  EC3 manages to get a roll up as the ref counts one, two, and three.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Pretty Boy Smooth and EC3

The members of Exodus Pro stand tall knowing they can roll in the tag ranks.

The final word goes to the NWA Heavyweight Champion, Thom Latimer.  He gives a message to Aron Stevens and makes it clear he is not done with him. He points out that he tried to ruin his career and his life, and the people’s perception of him that he’s worked so hard to build.  The worst of it was that he tried to discredit his marriage, but because of how strong their bond is, Latimer mentions they had a chuckle.  He vows that he will get his hands on Stevens, and he’ll deal with it like he’s washing the dishes.  Latimer adds to the imagery that when you wash the dishes, you put on the rubber gloves and start scrubbing.  The only difference is that when he gets on the gloves, he’ll ball them up into fists and shove them down his throat.

Final Thoughts:

I didn’t think I was going to enjoy the main event, but EC3/Smooth did a good job against Blunt Force Trauma.  As stated, I dislike heel versus heel matchups, but there was a nice bit of a gray area that intrigued me as to where this might be heading.  We got a small taste, but a good taste, and I can’t wait to see more.

Corino and Frank will be a good match in the coming Dane Memorial Tournament.

As for The Fixers…seeing this breakup without much of a backstory does not Rule.

Until then, see ya next Tuesday.
