Lex Luger’s wish is still to have his lifelong friend Sting induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame as well as Diamond Dallas Page. With just 10 days until the actual ceremony, Luger is still in the dark about whether that will actually happen or not.
Sting would need permission from AEW to appear on the WWE broadcast as he still has a contract with them.
Speaking to Bill Apter on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Luger talked about his picks.
“Obviously, DDP has been working with me so much in the past. I would love him…but has there ever been a ‘two-fer’? Two guys out there for someone? Two guys to spot me in case I am walking and starting to fall I would have two buddies to spot me. There is your ‘money shot’. Sting on one side and DDP on the other,” he said.
He then spoke about the negotiations thus far.
“I ran it by WWE guys, Triple H’s right-hand man. He goes, ‘I know what you’re going to ask. I’ll have to run that up the flagpole, but man, I don’t know.’ I haven’t had an answer back on that but obviously, maybe selfishly—somewhat selfishly—I think it’d be great for the fans too,” said Luger.
Luger believes WWE is fine with Sting appearing on the Hall of Fame broadcast and it would be “classy” of AEW to be as well.
“WWE may allow him up there but he would also have to have permission from Tony Khan and AEW so there’s a lot of moving parts there but ideally, obviously, I would love to see both those guys up there with me. That would be huge for me and I think it’d be special for the fans too,” said Luger.
