NXT Women’s Champion, Stephanie Vaquer. has relinquished the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
During the opening segment of NXT this week General Manager Ava called Vaquer to the ring.
“After walking out victorious last week and still remaining a double champion, that shows you exactly the caliber of superstar Stephanie is,” said Ava before delivering the bad news.
“Given the depth of our women’s division both of these titles deserve to be defended frequently. After a lot of thought, Stephanie and I have decided that it is not fair for her to continue to do this alone. So, we have both come to the decision that Stephanie is going to relinquish her Women’s North American Championship,” continued Ava as the fans began loudly booing.
Ava stated that a new champion would be decided at Stand and Deliver in a six-woman ladder match.
“No! No! No!” chanted the fans.
“I understand that this is not a popular decision but…” started Stephanie before having to fight back some tears. “NXT has given me opportunities and I want to do the same for everyone else. I really want to push my NXT women’s division.”
Vaquer had one condition though. She reserved the right to choose who she faces at Stand and Deliver. Ava agreed to that stipulation.
That brought out Jordynne Grace and Jaida Parker who argued over who should face Vaquer.
“It looks like you two need to work this out,” Vaquer said as Grave and Parker brawled.
