Ric Flair has been in the news a lot lately and he is now responding to his name being in the headlines.
On this week’s Raw, John Cena made a promise to not only ruin wrestling but also Ric Flair’s legacy.
“At WrestleMania I will make history by winning a 17th championship and I finally force you to forget the name of the fun machine, jet-flying Ric Flair. You will forever say the name: John Cena. I’m going to win that championship, the center of every superstar of this entire business, of every fan in this building, I will win that championship and retire with it. I am taking it home with me and leaving all of you to create a brand new toy belt because the real one comes home with me,” said Cena.
In an interview with TMZ, Flair responded to Cena’s rant on Raw.
“They’ve been trying to get rid of the ‘woo’ for 50 years. The ‘woo’ ain’t going away, and neither is Ric Flair,” he said.
Flair hinted that he may be at WrestleMania to not only cheer on his daughter but to see if Cena can indeed make history.
Earlier this week in North Carolina a cross-party alliance of state senators has submitted a bill to explore the possibility, feasibility of creating a wrestling hall of fame there. Called the “Ric Flair Act”, the bill is asking for $500,000 to launch a study into the proposal.
Flair responded to that news as well on social media.
