AAA’s Mega Champion (AAA World Heavyweight Champion) Alberto El Patron is not welcome in Tijuana, Mexico, at least for the next six months.
Tijuana authorities announced the suspension after Patron attacked a fan during an event in the city.
El Patron was wrestling El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. on March 14th. He claims fans were throwing coins and drinks at him.
Footage from the event shows El Patron wading into the crowd to confront fans. He threw a chair hitting a woman in the face. Fans threw a chair and other objects back at him. El Patron then shoved a fan. The woman needed medical attention for her injuries and was taken to hospital.

A copy of the written suspension has been circulated online.
It reads: “In the city of Tijuana, Baja California, on the 17th day of the month of March 2025, in the premises of the facilities of the H. Comisión de Lucha Libre, located at Blv. Diaz Ordaz 12421, fraccionamiento el paraíso with cp. 22440, in an extraordinary meeting and with the presence of a legal quorum, it was determined that according to the established in the wrestling regulations for the city of Tijuana, Baja California.

THE C. PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER ALBERTO DEL RIO (EL PATRON), IS SUSPENDED FOR A PERIOD OF 180 DAYS FROM THE PLAZA OF TIJUANA.
In the city of Tijuana, Baja California on the 17th day of March of the month of 2025, the PRESENT is NOTIFIED, for all the effects to which it has place in the strata of the H, commission of wrestling, of the city of Tijuana, Baja California.”
El Patron defeated Nic Nemeth at Triplemania XXXII: Monterrey for the championship on August 17th of last year. It is his second reign as AAA World Heavyweight Champion.
