The leader of Bullet Club has made the New Japan Cup finals. David Finlay defeated the ‘Most Electrifying Wrestler in the World Today’, Zack Sabre Jr., in the semi-finals tonight.
Finlay used his strength to pick Zack off the mat and powerbomb him after Zack tried his usual whatever-the-hell flippy, roll-up crap. Finlay got a two count. Finlay hoisted Zack onto his shoulders. Zack locked in some whatever-the-hell head lock submission move. Finlay flipped Zack over to end what turned into a sleeper hold from behind. Zack puts Finlay in some other incredibly hypnotizing submission move on the mat for what seems like an eternity.
Finlay spears Zack off the ropes. After more flippy, reverse this and that nonsense, Finlay clotheslines Zack and nails him with Into Oblivion for a two count. For some reason, Zack takes Finlay and the match so lightly that he gives the double-finger when attempting to put Finlay away with an amazing Super, Atomic, Ultra…bridging pin. Zack hit some kind of rolling DDT, whatever the hell. Before I totally fell asleep Finlay wins with an Overkill.

Monday: Shota Umino vs. Shingo Takagi
Finlay will meet the winner of that match during the finals next Thursday. The New Japan Cup is NJPW’s annual single-elimination tournament. The winner is rewarded with an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match.

Tomohiro Ishii and Katsuya Murashima versus TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa and Hartley Jackson)
Jackson pins Katsuya with his Jagged Edge slam. Ishii and Oiwa continue to throw hands on the floor.

Hiroshi Tanahashi and Daiki Nagai versus Yuji Nagata and Satoshi Kojima
Nagai has Kojima in a Boston Crab. Kojima flips himself out of the hold. Kojima absorbs some forearms and a slap?!?!? Nagai runs off the ropes. Kojima catches him with his lariat.

Yuya Uemura and Taka Michinoku versus Toru Yano and Yoshi-Hashi
Hashi makes Taka tap out to the butterfly lock.

United Empire (Great-O-Khan, TJP and Jakob Austin Young) versus El Phantasmo, Oleg Boltin and Jado
Khan and Young double-team Boltin. As Khan comes off the ropes Boltin kicks him in the face and hits Young with a reverse elbow smash. Boltin drop kicks Khan out of the ring. Young kicks Boltin the head. ELP kicks him in the head. Boltin pins Young with the Kamikazi.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito and Bushi) versus United Empire (Jeff Cobb and Callum Newman)
Newman labels Bushi with a running knee pinning him.

Once again, just a big brawl at the start with everyone fighting on the floor. Things eventually head back to the ring so the bell can be rung. Owens rocks Evil with a knee to the face. As the official is distracted, Dick Togo throws powder in Chase’s eyes. Evil pins him with Everything is Evil.
